- I own the Gen 1 pencil- it's awkward to charge as you either have to plug it in with an adapter that's easily lost, or you plug it into your iPad and it sticks out the bottom.
- The battery life isn't that great
- If you're thinking "I'm not sure I would use this" you definitely won't.
Unless you absolutely need a Pencil right now and only afford this one, avoid and get the Gen2 for the wireless charging alone.

Figures that this deal would pop up now. I bought one open box on ebay for this much a few weeks ago because my kid is starting high school and was supposed to get one of these. Oh well.
So if you do get the Gen1 pencil here, don't expect it to work on your "next" iPad. Just the one you currently have.

College student used with taking notes and I used mine for work notes and drawing (look up Procreate or Autodesk Sketchbook). Great great inexpensive drawing apps.
Also took notes on noteability and mindmap apps. I also have the crayola pencil too which was handy. However appreciated the 1st gen pencil for our older iPads. Does great with pressure sensitivity drawing and painting. Very responsive. I would pay $70 now based on my experience.
