This is going to be a faster drive, and the PS5 specifically requires Gen 4 drives.
If you are just talking about putting it in your computer then:
1) Check to see if your motherboard actually supports Gen 4 drives (if you're dead set on getting a Gen 4 drive)
2) You are not going to see any difference in gaming or general use between Gen 3 and Gen 4 nvme. You likely won't even notice a difference going from a good 2.5" ssd to a (faster) nvme.
I have both a Hynix gen 3 nvme and a Western Digital gen 4 nvme in my PC. I notice no difference between them whatsoever when playing games. I just got the Gen 4 because I got a good deal on it at the time and computers are a hobby of mine, but it wasn't a smart purchase in terms of its actual performance benefit.
So far its good to go, almost as quick as my Samsung 980 PRO 2TB.
Hardly any difference when loading and using MS FS 2020 in max. settings.

That's the heatsink linked in the previous thread for PS5 folks. Thanks OP! I can finally stop deleting and installing games 😁
