They don't take returns without receipts anymore.

That kind of depends on the store, the employee, and the items you're returning. Last month I returned some items that I purchased a year (give or take) without a receipt along with some items I purchased a couple of months ago with the receipt. They took everything back. Some went on store credit, some back to the credit card.

I have this miter saw from a black Friday deal a couple of years ago ($99). I love it and we actually use it all the time. It's not super great if you need a saw to cut through lumber but great for smaller projects and trim and I've used it on flooring.
I have used it on lumber projects but sometimes it doesn't have enough in one go tomget through a 2x6. it could have been the battery I was using but it's happened numerous times.
