Yea but comparing a 13" to a 16" is kinda dumb.

The description says "2x8GB" of RAM. This is not correct, is it? Based on past posts, this model does not have DIMMs.
RAM slots are not user upgradeable. Instead the soldered RAM is dual channel.

You really have to value weight a lot to appreciate this. Perhaps you go on airlines that weighs backpacks, etc or you wear your backpack all day and appreciate every ounce saved. I thought I was in this category. But everytime I handle the gram and feel the flex, I ask myself why did I spend this much? It definitely doesn't feel premium.

Then I got the Samsung book s touchscreen windows version that was on SD marked down to 300 for 13.3 inch screen. It only weighs 2.0 lbs and still no flex. It can be done.
The most comparable model would be the galaxy book pro 15.6. It is a non touch screen and it weights 2.5ish. Little bit less weight than lg gram 16 for a little bit less screen. It also has issues with the screen cracking due to its thinness and weight. The 15.6 version of the galaxy book pro 360 (larger version of your laptop) with a touch screen is slightly over 3 lbs. Its harder than you think to not have flex at over 15 inches and under 3 lbs.

I was talking about flex in my LG Gram 13. The book pro 360 15 has reported issues with screen cracking, but the lid actually doesn't flex. I am not doubting the actual quality of the gram. It is actually very very durable. But because of the flex from the magnesium alloy which to many people feels like plastic, it just doesn't come off as premium.

Thanks for clarifying. I didn't know you were talking about the LG Gram 13.

I have the 15" version. If you want something light, this thing is great. It "feels" lighter than my S7 Tab.

Still using my LG gram from 3 years ago that I got from Costco for 799. 17" screen is hard to beat. I had a MBP pre-touchbar, MBP 16", dell xps 15 and 13. It's like holding a small paperback book compared to hardcover. It is thin so it does get hot and the speakers are shite.

I guess it also feels flimsy like a paperback vs. hardcover. Functionally the same but the flimsiness can be bothering.

I have bought three grams for my business the last 3-4 years. They are fantastic! I like 17' screens, I travel a lot, and I need a lot of horsepower and the gram is by far the best option for me.

I previously bought 17' MSI gaming laptops but they were really heavy and not fun to travel with.

PSA: THE GAMING PERFORMANCE OF THIS LAPTOP IS VERY UNDERRATED

YOU NEED TO GO TO LG CONTROL CENTER > CHANGE THE COOLING MODE FROM SILENT TO PERFORMANCE.

YOU WILL DOUBLE YOUR FPS IN MOST GAMES. I HAVEN'T SEEN ONE YOUTUBE REVIEW COVER THIS.

I have the 2021 version and play Dota 2 on max settings at 1920 x 1200 at 60-80 fps. I can run some RPCS3 and Xenia games, etc. You'll be surprised at what you can run.
