These are shit, the headband breaks and there is literally zero customer service, no exaggeration.
I'm waiting until they are $328.99.
I was hesitant to buy the Elegia's when they first came out, but when they dropped to $400 a year ago, I snagged them and I have no regrets. They are amazing!
For $330 this is a legit slickdeal!!!

People who buy Focal headphones and similar have high expectations/standards. If you are buying based on consumer reviews, you should not be that picky...
Terrible sound signature. I was hoping these would be like a closed back clear. But that's unfortunately not the case. Excellent built quality though. Comes with a nice carrying case.
This reviewer has no clue what he's hearing. It's the closest example of giving a random guy a bunch of expensive headphones and asking him to write about it. Treble, mids, bass are the only things in his vocabulary.
I have had this for over 2 yrs and paid about the same price for it. It's not a $900 headphone and is priced to be heavily discounted (Adorama does that with some products). At $300, it's an excellent deal for an entry level headphones for music and the build quality is typical of mid-range Focal products which exceeds most headphones around the same price. I don't know how anyone can break the headband from normal use lol - it'll take a bit of abuse or a really big head :-)
It will sound like a tin can with no bass without a decent headphone mobile/desktop DAC/Amp to drive it (e.g. Mojo) so expect to spend extra a few more hundred if you don't have one. I wouldn't use it for gaming but it's great for music/vocal with the right setup.
I love my Elegias. I wanted a flat/neutral/natural sound and they achieve that admirably. Some suggestions:
-I highly recommend using the EQ profile from the Jaakkopasenan AutoEQ database [ https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq ], I use Wavelet on Android which does this automatically. They sound significantly better when EQed with the AutoEQ presets.
-Upgrade the cable, especially if using with an amp that supports balanced cables. The stock cable is too stiff and not balanced. OpenHeart makes an inexpensive cable that sounds great [ https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKtnU32 ]
I run mine on a FiiO BTR3K. It sounds great and has enough power to drive the Elegias, and also supports the LDAC 990kbps audio codec. There is a tiny amount of background noise, but only audible if nothing is playing.

The headband will break while putting them on, and no replacement parts are available.
Nor can you send them in for service.
It's been an issue for years, and Focal has refused to redesign or offer repair service.

I've had mine for 2+ years with daily 6+ hour use at work… no issues
I use it directly connected to a dell desktop and (with some EQ) sounds great!
