This is how Samsung has been able to drop prices so quickly.
Thanks!

55" sets are now pc and gaming monitors. 65" for the bedroom. All OLED 65" sets should be $1300 now. LG and Sony held them artificially higher due to lack of competition. Samsung is rocking the boat this year.
I would go for an LG OLED or Sony QD-OLED.

- Motion Rate 120 equals 60 Hz real refresh rate.
- Motion Rate 240 equals 120 Hz real refresh rate.
I did some searches, and I don't see reliable confirmation of the refresh rate. Please show me if I missed something.
Here's the deal with this TV. Nobody from the "Videophile" world is in love with it. It's main competition is the Sony A95K. 65" inch still holding strong at 3999. It was reduced to 3499 for a bit around Labor Day. I follow TV's as a hobby and like some elements of this TV. The colors do indeed have more saturation than say a LG G2, (C2 as well, but C2 a touch behind the G2). Overall, not all that close to the Sony.
For the "Fanatics", the Value Electronics annual "TV Shoot out" is a good reference point. The Sony Handily won, with this TV coming in second, the LG G2 third. (Yes, Samsung supplies Sony the panel). HOWEVER, Sony demands a high tolerance on their supplied panels. Also note, the panels are not exact as the Sony's Panel actually emits the sound. Sony clearly has the best upscaling and processing in the business.
The caveat is, the LG G2 is also holding strong with pricing. These S95s have LEGITIMATE issues with bending panels and arriving "bent". Now, all that being said, if you can get one for this $1400 it is a steal, provided you can inspect the set and return if bent.
However, Samsung now lowering the $1999 for the S95B speaks volumes about it's actual sales performance. I would NOT recommend this to anyone at the $1999 price point. Too many software bugs, bad shadow detail, and the construction defects. Take a hard look at the G2. The Sony is obviously way more money, and an unrealistic comparison price wise if this can be had for the $1400. However, I just want to stress this set is not "95%" of the Sony. Forget Rtings.com etc. do some hard research on this set before you take the plunge.

Whichever is cheapest. That's the bottom line.. Dolby vision is a royalty scheme manufacturers have to pay for each TV sold. I actually hope Samsung keeps resisting Dolby! No one can tell the difference between DV and HDR10... Now Google is trying to enter the space with their own codex but it will be royalty free (for how long if they gain traction though!?!)

But this is a great value TV; i.e, one for those who aren't enthusiasts like you and me. I bought one for my parents because they just want their Netflix to Look Good(TM), and boy, does it ever.
Personally, I'm holding out until the prices on the G2 drop. I'd love to have the A95K, but I want 77", so I'd have to wait for the A95L or whatever next year's model will be, at which point, I'm sure a 2023 Sony QD-OLED will cost significantly more than a 2022 LG OLED.
The appeal of this one is the price, not that it's the best TV ever made.
