Can anyone recommend which might be better? I'm not familiar with tech specs 🥲
I have been looking at the LG 48"-55" CX, C1, & C2 and now this has caught my attention. Which would be ideal? Costco seems to have decent pricing on the LGs and a 90day return policy.
Thanks in advance!
You have some who want the color signature to be "as intended" or realistic and than others from the sight test that just want something that "pops".
I find it similar to the still camera arguments between purists who want in camera jpgs from dedicated still cameras to look realistic out of camera to those who want raw images and than apply their color science that is no where near realistic but is pleasing to the eye on social media. Most consumers hate the in camera images from dedicated still cameras and prefer the inferior clarity, better color science pictures coming from their smartphone
It's amazing to me how much we are manipulated in the store demo displays for TVs like best buy where only the flagships and 70+ inch models get eye candy demos being displayed while everything else gets "best buy adware" content. Most buyers don't get to truly evaluate since I'm guessing that most of it would all look too similar and consumers would probably ask themselves.... "Why would I pay more?"
I think TVs manufactures have a problem on their hands similar to still camera makers where they cant push an image quality narrative to get people to spend more or upgrade more frequently.... They can only push the narrative on paper with brightness, gamut and other technical numbers, but with the naked eye... The TV clarity, color and brightness argument is becoming a commodity(they are very subtle) .
I mean besides the black scenes.. which were wonderful on oleds... There were quite a few vibrant scenes that looked much better in non-oled screens costing hundreds less.
If I had my choice, I'd want the brightness of the u8h, the processing of the Sony, the Samsung s95a panel capabilities, non oled resistance to burn in with the price of the u8h.
all the TV's have flaws and I can't say the 200-1000 premiums are worth the flaws of another.

$1499 for U8H, not including $100 off for the current hisense 100 day promotion and I think I can price match for 120 days with my Mastercard up to $250. Side by side the shadow detail and blacks are obviously better on the S95B, but once I return it I wont know any better. The U8H is great. Slight blooming here and there, but much improved over the last FALD tv I tried a few years ago. The brightness is staggering. Upscaling is okay, I can't speak much to it. I just bought the Spears and Munsil disc and hope to calibrate it soon.
Also: The remote is solar powered! I was not expecting that. You charge it via USB but there's a solar panel on the back that charges in the light.
