Select Xfinity Rewards Members: Free xFi Pod YMMV

Seemingly hot off the press, Xfinity Rewards has added "xFi Pod Giveaway" as part of Rewardathon ending today.

https://customer.xfinity.com/rewards

I'm a Diamond Rewards member, the top tier, so I don't know which other tiers may be eligible.

At first I thought it might be a sweepstakes, but no, it's a free xFi Pod worth ~$100. At least I assume it's the latest generation. I already use two at home. Upon claiming, "Your xFi Pod is on the way! Look for your Pod in 4-6 weeks."

How does someone get to "Diamond" status?
I'm only "Platinum" & I've been a customer since '09.

Diamond is 14+ years (so you'll be there next year).

Because if I want Unlimited data with no 1.2 tb cap it would cost me $50 a month. But renting the model and paying for the security for $25, removes the data cap, so I save $25 a month. No brainer
He just wants to sit on his high horse and does not know anything about the "slickdeals" =]

What??? If you rent the modem, there is no data cap? What about the $25 for security you are referring to? Can you elaborate?

It's not the renting the modem specifically that gets you the unlimited badwidth. It's signing up for "Xfi Complete" which gets you the modem, whole-network security, and unlimited bandwidth for $25 per month.

I did the same and don't regret it. Prior, there were months I ran over the 1.2TB data cap and had to manage my 2 "free" months of overage before being fined. It's one less hassle to worry about and the added benefit that since it's their hardware, it's their responsibility if something goes wrong or I need an upgrade.

I was very tempted by it … 4 months of the year I have to stop streaming because of being right at limit

So for internet and the other 3 services you mentioned, how much do you pay in all?

$90 per month all in for 24mbps up and 900 down and the services in question.

Not fantastic, but where I live it's pretty much an xFinity monopoly.

what did you say to snag one?
I told them that I was a loyal customer since 2017. She did mention that "If your home has a dead zone, they are more likely to ship them for no charge".

I use my own equipment, always go over 1.2 and never received an overage bill. Has anyone else?
