Try the Govee (Upside-down) or the Ambi-light from the UK for a less distracting solution.
I have the older, original light strip installed behind the tv, Will this device work with it or would I need to upgrade it ?
Also, is there a new sync box release anticipated anytime soon?
Buy this 4in-2out Matrix: https://www.amazon.com/FERRISA-Sw...B0B6FCPG5Q and either the Lytmi: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VK4QF16 or TaoX: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KZRB79P
According to folks answering questions on the Matrix it works with sending 4k120 HDR from a PS5/XBSX and able to dual output to their 4k60 capture card.
That would mean you can use the Matrix to pass-through an HDMI 2.1 signal to your TV and have a secondary signal output directly to an ambient light box. The ambient light box will be used just for the ambient lighting with no output needed to any display otherwise.
No idea on how well they will play nicely together. But for anyone willing to waste a bit of time, that's a route I would try if I didn't want to wait for an All-in-one solution for HDMI 2.1 Ambient Lighting.
Highly recommend the Govee lights. A fraction of the price, no real extra cable management, wireless control with Google home (not sure about Alexa), works with internal video, and can even have dynamic lighting where it flashes with sound for things like action movies.
Only real downside is the physical camera which is easy to ignore after a while but does make transporting the TV a little more of a delicate situation.

They drop their products in EU first and pretty abruptly. Don't imagine an announce or teaser coming that will let you know.
More Expensive - https://hdfury.com/product/4k-diva-18gbps/ - $499+$99 - Ambient lighting using an optional kit. Dolby Vision supported. Plus, a ton more power user options built in.
Less Expensive - https://www.amazon.com/Lytmi-Back...B09VK4QF
Note - It should be pointed out that the Govee solution of using an external camera to track what's on screen is not the only option if you exclusively use the built-in apps on your smart TV.
https://ambivision.tv/shop/ambivi...ing-system - $200 - can also do it using a camera mounted facing the TV. That said, the Govee can be mounted upside-down so that the camera is on the bottom and for many this eliminates much of its visibility.
UPDATE: There is a solution apparently that is cheaper than even the Govee; At least right now on sale.
https://www.amazon.com/Immersion-...B09KZRB79P - $65- According to a reviewer answering one of the questions - this has a few firmware updates you'll need to do, but does in fact do Dolby Vision as well.
I use the Lytmi and really like it. Surprised more people don't use this one.

More like minimum $400 to $500.
