Note to use this system without issues and have devices connect to 5G, you will need to downgrade the router and satellite one by one manually to firmware V2.7.3.22. You need to download each firmware from netgears website, drop to your desktop and then select dmg file if using a mac. You will then need to change the 2.4GHZ channel to 6 then change the 5GHZ to channel 40. Then reset router and you will be all set.

by any chance can you confirm what version of last firmware made that slow speed. I have been struggling from last 3 month for slow speed that I can't even stream anything. i would definitely try the one that you recommended. I have V2.7.4.24 on 1 router and 4 satellite which is damn slow.

So I already have the rbk50 with two satellites, and bought this to jack the satellite and have three... Worked like a charm!

But is there anything I can do with the now spare router unit? Can it be flashed into another satellite? Should I replace my v1 router unit (with the USB port) to this one and junk the other? Sell the router as stand alone? Or is it now pretty much worthless?
