- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

First time I will be doing the trade-in with BB in-store. Hopefully better experience than Google Hyla.
Is it possible to get the new device (Pixel 7) via ship to home and do the trade-in in the store instead of shipping it back?
For MO, they charge 9.xx% tax for store pickup but only 4.xx% for shipping orders (a savings of around $30)

Honestly the pricing on Android flagships seems completely arbitrary. The Pixel 6/6a are definitely worth $200, but nowhere near the non-sale asking price of $450-$600.
Just decided to trade the Pixel 6 in for this 7 and hope it's better. If not I'm done with Pixel.
