According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

What are you planning to do? My suspicion is that the kits are shipped in the order phones get delivered. Can you check if trade in date on the label lines up with when the phones got delivered?

That didn't happen, so when I picked up the phone. All I got is $250 refund and the manager was not willing to do the adjustment. Did anyone else had a similar experience? Is there anything I can do to correct this?

The dates don't really match up, but theyre at least sequential. I talked to someone at best buy and they said it probably won't matter as long as they get in the phones, but I don't trust that.
