As an older casual gamer, I have to say that the amount of DLC available nowadays for these games is nuts. From what I can tell, the versions of Tekken and Soul Calibur offered in this sale don't seem to be ones that include all the DLC. Do the Definitive Editions of those games ever go on sale?

I also hate how every game has 2 or 3 versions now

Fighting games are one of the worst offenders in abusing the system. However, Tekken 7 is one of the few that actually have a complete edition in the end, the Def Ed. Soulcalibur 6 on the other hand don't even though it's from the same publisher. It has 2 separate season passes because it didn't do too well. Generally, expect 4-5 annual passes for successful series.

Yes because game prices have not kept up with inflation so they have made other ways to get more money out of us. Games back then are over $100 in today's money in many cases even more than that. Gaming was much more expensive back then compared to today, especially when you factor in how big games nowadays compared to back then.
