If anyone was wondering, this is the equivalent of 6.6 pounds of fresh potatoes.

I have not tried the potato shreds but the Augason Farms Gluten-Free Black Bean Burger 2 lbs 14 oz No. 10 Can 1 Pack is good and so is Augason Farms Dehydrated Diced Red & Green Bell Peppers 1 lb 4 oz No. 10 Can

this stuff goes on sale quite often

Not a great deal for the amount of calories it is...
You're paying for the storage and shelf life. These things stay good forever. That's the point. The next time the power grid fails (California, Texas, etc) you can still heat some food up and have something to eat.

To be honest, I think the ones you get at Sams and Costco are good and well worth it because of the convenience. The question is, how do these compare taste wise and is this even a good deal compared to the ones at Costco?

Terrible for survival tho. The amount of calories you get for 1 lbs isn't that great.

Wait, is that a thing that sensible people are worried about now?

What's changed with BHT?

I was skeptical of dehydrated hash browns as well until I tried these:

I can't comment on the quality of Augason Farms but Idaho Farms, when rehydrated, are delicious. We use them to make breakfast burritos and they come out great.
I read about the dehydrated Idaho Spuds a couple of years ago and have been ordering those ever since. Our family loves them!

It's a vehicle for eating fat.
Hard to stomach pounds of shortening by the spoonful.
Use it to fry rehydrated potatoes, and you get a calorie bonanza!
Easily boosts the calories from 2200 total to 8500 total calories if you can stomach greasy fried potatoes when you are suffering from radiation sickness.

My sister and her prepper husband LOVE the Augason Farms pancake mix. Apparently so did the bear that broke into their shed and ate it. They live in Aspen, not even off the grid 🐻
