I ordered this luggage before the thread was posted because I think it is a good deal. The luggage seems pretty sturdy and the weight is 10.3lbs. I actually weighed it myself using the travel scale, pretty light for it size. I've used few Samsonite and I never have any problem with it, so hopefully this one will last. The color doesn't look as bad as the picture, I was kind of concern about the color before I bought too.

Download Keepa to show the price history on things like this. It is not really that much of a slickdeal it was $123 a bit ago and normally goes for $145ish.

Still waiting delivery on the Omni 2 to compare.

I had a Samsonite Omni (carry on size). The wheels just werent great. I tried my friend's Away bag (overpriced, yes), and the wheels were great. So much easier to actually move the suitcase. Gave away my Samsonite and upgraded to a higher quality bag.

Members Mark hardside from Sam's club is pretty good as it is polycarb and has great wheels. Inner quality isn't as good as Away or other major brands, but they're not that important if you are a good packer. It's hard to beat for $140 for a set if you have a membership.

I have had this suitcase for about 5 years. A couple minor scratches from baggage handlers. Depending on how strict the check-in staff is it may be considered oversized. Linear measurement is slightly over size. I bought a cheap luggage scale that I always take with me. Never allow extra scrutiny of your luggage at check-in, be sure you are under weight, and they will just tag it and go. They don't have time to tape measure, also be nice, because I am sure that most over sized bag fees are a-hole taxes. I have never been flagged as oversized.

Samsonite warranty is great, had a wheel break and they said bring it to a local store(general luggage repair store in tampa) and drop it off. They handled fixing and it got shipped back to me for free. Had another one in the set break the handle, they sent me 3 options to replace it and shipped to house. HIGHLY recommend this brand because of that. Perhaps it won't last ten years but they will replace it. New luggage carries new 10 year warranty. I travel for work and take 60 flights a year by the way and it holds up well.
