Buy the iPhone at the T-Mobile kiosk at Costco (in-store)
- just upgrade the phone, adding a line is not required

Reference: https://www.t-mobile.com/
https://www.costco.com/

iPhone 14 - 128 GB: $719+ tax= $763

Trade-in discount for XR: $360
  • includes a one-time Bill credit of $75
  • remaining balance on a virtual debit card (Master Card)
Update 1: Minor edits based on comments. Apparently, this is a usual deal from Costco. If you want a better one you should wait for the Black Friday deals in Nov, however, I'm not sure what should we be expecting though.

Does this work with the Pro? I only need it because of the lidar sensor. I couldn't give a shit about it as a phone.

What's the difference between this deal and what they offer at t-mobile? Is it just that the trade in values for xr is high?
No monthly bill credits / "contract" at Costco

12 has Lidar? Or a 12 pro? (Not versed in iPhone models) but if it can be an iPhone it can pull double duty as a face cam for livelink face mocap. Have an XR now but would happily pay 400$ for one phone/device that does both and if you know of any stand alone scanners of any quality at that price I'd love to know. Honestly.

SF Bay Area:
Does anyone know if the El Camino and/or South San Francisco stores still have a full wireless kiosk with T-Mobile service?

The SF warehouse on 450 10th street only has an ATT kiosk left, the rest has disappeared. It's just a small booth now.

Thx.
Not SF, SSF and El Cam, the closest one should be the costco forest city one.

What's a esim vs. a regular Sim? Never heard of esim before. Thanks in advance.
eSIM stands for embedded SIM, it's a standard developed in 2015 but barely anyone used it until recently. Essentially, it means you use a digital SIM card, no physical one. The phones the last few years often had one physical sim slot but you could also add a secondary line via a digital SIM card (embedded "eSIM"). This year sparks a change as the new 14 iPhones sold in the US do not have a physical SIM slot any longer.

The downside is you cannot as a easily swap cards as before as you will have to download an eSIM file from your carrier. In Europe many 3rd party carriers don't even offer eSIM yet so in the rest of the world the iPhone 14 versions all still have a physical SIM slot plus one eSIM that can be active, but you could store multiple profiles and switch lines but shutting one down and activate another without having to swap physical cards.

Thanks, maybe Richmond or San Leandro have it too. Gotta be prepared if there is a good deal on BF/CM. ;-)

Incredible deal. $375 for XR is amazing!

14 is underrated. It's quite an upgrade from 11 or 12, not to mention XR!

I would not worry about this.

Remember people saying the world was ending after Apple ended 3.5mm head phone jack?

What happened? The world moved with Apple, what phone has a jack anymore?

Esim is also more secure. Physical sims probably only an issue if you travel a lot. Outside USA . But in a couple years, everybody will use esim following Apple And if you have TMobile, it has world wide roaming included

OP please add this link
Your flyer says when you activate new line. This doesn't seem to be the deal that op is mentioning
