I was so excited about the N8+. Hated it. Absolutely chokes on pet hair. So much so it's actually more work with the auto bin than just cleaning the onboard bin every time.
I found the navigation slightly worse than the 950: it would run out of battery 3 times as fast because of less runtime but also because it had to rotate around what it considered obstacles 30 times, a long contemplation about its life, before moving on and rolling over the cord anyways.
'Oh, well it goes back to the dock to charge, right?'
It does and then resets the clean 3 out of 5 times.
'It won't get blocked on the auto empty as often if you tell it to go back on the dock every 20 minutes, right?'
It theoretically wouldn't, if it didn't touch the dock after 20 minutes, and GTFO of the dock right before the dock vac kicks in to empty it's contents.
Customer service was abysmal / non-existant, RMA was like dealing with a car salesman 'I tried sprinkling it with fairy dust, it's still a shit vac, just give me my RMA number please'.
It was bad enough that I am a roborock customer going forward (and super happy with it).
EDIT: That being said, I'm still upvoting this, as it's a great deal. Possibly a good vac if you have uncluttered layout so it can do a good navigation and no pets. I went through Ecovacs direct which is where the RMA and customer service issues happened, Best Buy can circumvent a lot of that, depending.

Overall, I am not very happy with this. This gets stuck way more often than my Roborock, even though it has "more" sensors. The auto-empty does not work well if the robot picks up a lot of hair and needs to be emptied manually, defeating the purpose. For some goddamn reason, it does not cycle through my whole apartment and times and "completes" the cleaning after just going through 1 or 2 rooms. I have not yet tested the mopping function, so don't know how it does on that. Carper cleaning is decent but not as good as roborock. Hardwood cleaning is as good or even very slightly better than Roborock.
Overall, I would not recommend paying more than $250-300 for this. If you don't need the auto-empty feature, then get a Roborock. The reason I replaced my Roborock was that the customer service is absolute garbage. They make up excuses to reject your warranty claims and ask you to pay for repairs and shipping or repair it yourself by ordering parts from Aliexpress.

Not had issue with fur works amazing.
The app does suck and updates cause issues like previous map disappearing / getting lost but on Reddit other side, similar issues and have work around and I've gotten the old map back on and working and perfectly after a bit of trial and error.
One major issue is with the laser mapping and that stuff. I got the same error as most after a month of use, and the company suggests, banging it to go to go again. Found a YouTube post and I told youtube how to take the top off easily and expose the spinning laser radar device. From what I could see it wasn't very well lubricated.
So why applied some white grease to it not WD-40 but actual grEase. Started it going in with the top off and the device started to spin quicker than it did before. replace the top housing and the map and type error that a lot of people get went away and I have been using it now for close to a year and that if she has not come back again.
Ever since I added proper Lubrication to that part as well as of aparts it seems you working a lot better than it did before.
So out of the box this night, not be the greatest advice for people, but with a very small adjustment in about a half an hour of your time with turns out to be a very great robot it works a lot better than my older other brands. Live in a ranch house else I would buy another one for the upstairs floors.
$349 at Walmart!
I also had the issue mentioned about pet hair. The hack in this video works great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nH0Z9P9

I don't think you're too far off, all the reviews I consumed in my research were generally positive. I was quite a bit taken aback at how poor it performed (especially coming from the Deebot 950), but I realize that part of that is because the 950 just performed better [bull in china shop] for my space than a vac with a different focus on how it navigates. After I realized it wasn't what I was looking for the RMA process with Ecovacs really kind of sealed the deal for me avoiding them for the foreseeable future.
Still, if it works for your situation/pad, that's awesome - you scored an auto-empty robovac at half the cost of the competition (to me, that's Roborock, which I have and love these days).
