I had one question and was wondering if anyone has experienced it.
If your Bilt card is blocked and your rent payment is due (which was set up using the ACH number) then will the payment go through? I asked the customer care but they were not able to answer. Trying to see if we have any real world experiences.

The speed at which this card is getting compromised/blocked it is very likely that many will face this situation.

Another point - will having the Bilt protect ON (meaning pull from the bank account directly) be helpful in such cases where the card is blocked?
Per Bilt cs, if card is blocked due to fraudulent charges, rent payment WILL NOT go through

That's just it. I don't find the benifit high enough to get this credit card BUT.....

lets say your rent is $1k per month and you will pay rent for 10 years.... that is 120K in rent paid and that is $1,200.00 benifit. Not to shabby.
True. I find the benefits great but the cons are what make me run the other direction.

1)credit slot used
2) annoying 5 transactions a month
3)they can nerf the benefits at anytime
4)high levels of fraudulent activity

There are two ways to pay rent with Bilt if your landlord is not in the Bilt network

1. If your landlord accepts checks the bilt card can send your landlord a check.

2. If your landlord accepts ach or online payments BILT can give you a routing and account number

Whether you pay via check or ach it'll charge your Bilt card and you'll earn points

I have been having this card since 3/2022. It has 2 methods of rent payments, online payment and sending physical check. For your online payment it gives you an account number and a routing number. So you pay like your own checking account. You can also pay your rent even with a physical check. You give the address of recipient to the bank and they send the landlord a check and you earn points. I used both ways successfully for my landlord in NY who was an individual and received the physical check and for landlord in CA which was a company and got the payment onlline.
Please keep in mind that you have to have at least 5 transactions other than rent in a billing cycle to earn the points! (I buy half price vanilla cones from Mc Donalds x 5 Wink

It happened to me after some months. No fraudulent transactions went through. Anyways I called and they replaced my card with a new number. The good thing is that it's a wells-fargo card.

I just went through this process, and this will not affect your rent payments if you set up the ACH transfer using the dummy routing/checking numbers, since these numbers don't change even when your account number is changed after a fraud alert. The time between reporting the fraud and getting/activating the new card is tricky though because any transactions will not go through, so if your rent payment falls within that time period, best bet is to find another way to pay rent for that month.

Seems like it. I can't find anywhere that they go into what "rent" or "rental property" are. It does say you can't pay more than one rental property per month though.

I wouldn't think a company would open themselves up to such abuse, there has to be a catch. I wonder if they report the transactions - e.g. if you send yourself $20k/yr in "rent", are you liable to report that as income?
This seems like quite a lot of effort for $200 back
