I am looking for a heater, but I want to attach it to a smart plug so I can set it to turn on 30 minutes before I wake up. I am guessing this one won't work due to lack of a physical switch?

I imagine it would work even better because when the smart plug turns it on 30 minutes before you wake up, it'll heat up to the temperature you set.

Yeah. But I think this particular heater is digital only. So even if my smart plug turns on, i still need to hit the button the heater.
So thinking of getting a cheap one with a physical switch, so that it would automatically turn on with a smart plug. Or, getting a wifi enabled heater like this https://www.costco.com/atomi-smar...17626.html . But this was $20 cheaper just a couple of weeks ago. So still deciding on what to buy.

You should not be conectting this type of appliances to a smart outlet
How is this cost wise vs turning HVAC for entire house when you only need it for one room?
That's going to depend on your setup (hvac efficiency, house size vs. room size, utility costs, etc.)
For me it's much cheaper to run an electric room heater to keep my 180sq ft office warm vs heating the whole 1800sq ft house with a 97% HE gas furnace.
Just picked this up at the store for $59.99. For my 500 sq ft living room it is absolute crap. On highest setting it barely puts out any warm air. It might work for a tiny room under 200 sq ft. Going to return it
I have had several Vornado heaters. While it warmed up the room well by circulating the air, the fan also sucked the dust in the air into the heating element and over time it gave off burning smell and would not dissipate. May be my home is especially dusty, but I already have HEPA filter running in the house so I don't know what else I can do to avoid this problem.
time to return and rebuy i guess. it has 5 years warranty

I hooked mine up to a wemo insight and using the smart plug won't turn it on. Even if you turn it off with the smart plug you have to turn it back on with the remote or on the actual heater. Turning the smart switch back on it doesn't kick it back on. Also running them on a smart switch is okay if you check the specs. The wemo goes way above the 1500 max watts this thing can draw. idk why people are saying it's unsafe. it's literally what it's rated for.

Same here, plus it kept shorting out. My $20 Lasko space heater is tons better.

You'd consider switchbot products. Looks like this heater has an IR remote, you could get their mini hub and integrate into your smart home.
