I am actually typing on my older Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite (2020) tablet. I highly recommend the s6 lite tablets. I have various tablets and the s6 lite is my favorite. It lives up to its high score 4.7 out of 5 score (154 reviews).

This is the correct answer. I've owned every Samsung tablet since the s5e and the tab s6 or tab s7/s8 are the way to go for 11inch or smaller tablets. Currently own the fold 4, tab s8 (got for $99 after s7+ trade in which I got for $220 open box from best buy), and s8 ultra. Best combo imo bc it covers all sizes/use cases perfectly. Only thing I would change is going to an s9 tab if they keep the form factor but add AMOLED. The lcd on the s8 is a lot better than the s6 lite's though

Ditto the comment. On top of one note, the included Samsung notes application is good. It has a good text recognition on my hand writing, which is very helpful. The 2020 model is getting sluggish over the years.

How does this compare to the iPad air 2020 that was just on sale for $350? Not a super heavy user but would like longevity/reliability.

This is a tablet. Not a phone. With a phone, one may run lot more various apps at once. With a tablet like this, one doesn't. This tablet with 4GB RAM and the current $330 ipad with the lower 3GB RAM run fine handling lot of apps at once. Even the Fire HD10 has 3GB RAM and it does a pretty solid job. with RAM management. This is why you don't see anyone even mention or complain about the Samsung's 4GB RAM in the best buy customer reviews. I really don't ever remember ever seeing my Samsung bog down because too many apps/games running at once. I wouldn't let 4GB RAM be a concern. Nobody even mentioned it being too low out of the couple hundred reviewers.

No tangent but I have to laugh when someone doubts that I have a Samsung tablet because I was "fixated" with customer review score and didn't go into a full depth review. You don't want to hear the pros and only want to hear the cons? Not surprised.

It's only got usbc 2.0. Only 2 speakers compared to 4 from the A8 tablet, so probably meh for media.

What type of phone do you use? Tough to compare android to ios. It really is apples to oranges. I have the basic ipad and not the air 2020 but I am definitely more of a fan of the Samsung android experience over the ios because ios can't do lot of things that my android can. If you are an iphone user, you will probably just be more comfortable staying in the apple ecosystem.

This Samsung tablet is more on the comparison level of the regular basic ipad (retail $329... maybe it goes on sale for $280 on black friday). The iPad air 2020 deal is $120 more at $350 and that is a lot more than the $230 deal so the specs will naturally be higher.
