$97 Installation of garage door opener YMMV - $97

This is only useful for people who don't want to install by themselves, including me Smilie.

I saw this deal on HD website for $97 but found nowhere to book it. I went to a local HD and the manager confirmed the deal and booked it for me manually, even though his computer disagreed. I got a call for appointment on the same day. I hope the installation goes well later.

how was your experience? on the fence about getting the sub $100 genie and the hd install

update: went to my local hd tonight apparently all 20 of the first batch of black friday special garage door opener got bought by one dude, and the nice folks helped me find the other stash.... the install went up to $149 on the computer even though the website still says $97. the staff was not able to change the install price, but was able to change the pricing on the garage door opener to honor the advertised install price. ended up buying 2 genie units and 2 installs for less than $400.

same experience as above, was told installation price went up to $149 but they actually had a price label in the garage door section showing $97. Manager agreed to honor the price. Paired it up with the Genie garage door opener they had on black friday sale for $97

Does this include service on the rail? One of the wheel on my garage door rail is off the track, plus I do need to change the opener (it is dead completely and I've already got a new one). Will this installation cover both work = replace the opener + fix-the-track, so that I can get a fully functional garage door opener? If so, I will definitely need this service

Any feedbacks? My parents' garage door opener is getting worn out. I don't really want to spend a day to install something if I can pay HD to do it for $150.

Took advantage of a similar deal last year. Paid $87 to have a new opener installed and it was well worth the money. Like any other HD service they Sub out to a 3rd party installer and quality will vary by location.

Doesn't matter chain or belt - you would still be replacing the mechanism that lifts the door.. And 20 years old is not that old for a garage door opener. If it was 40 or 50 maybe.
