I happened to have tested this drive for work and compared it to the Samsung dual USB-C/USB-A drive. The Sandisk got around 27MB/s write, 110MB/s read. The Samsung drive got 112MB/s write, 400MB/s read. This was using Blackmagicdesign's Disk Speed Test.

The biggest deal killer for the Sandisk was how hot it got and the performance takes a big hit when it gets hot. Bottom line: its not a good drive if you plan on using it frequently or for large files. I wouldn't keep it plugged in all the time either.

Its too bad because having the USB-A and USB-C on the drive without an adapter is a big plus compared to the Samsung. It might be fine for people that uses these drives lightly and are patient.

This is a much better deal for ¢0.3 more. Speeds are more than twice as fast under 3.1 interface. It is backwards compatible with 3.0 and 2.0. and waterproof. SAMSUNG Type-C™ USB Flash Drive, 128GB, Transfers 4GB Files in 11 Secs w/ Up to 400MB/s 3.13 Read Speeds, Compatible w/ USB 3.0 / 2.0, Waterproof, 2022 https://a.co/d/4oXOyfE

My iPad Pro's storage is getting full and I spent the weekend trying to move it to a USB stick, there is just no easy way to move the photos short of paying for an app. I don't want to use iCloud or iTunes either, this drive would be perfect if the stupid "Files" app on the iPad can allow transfer of photos to the USB. Any slickdealers know a solution?

Stuff is just priced high regularly, then it goes on "sale". Anybody ever think of that

I talked myself into that Samsung Bar Plus deal from a few days ago and then ended up cancelling it when I actually couldn't recall the last time I used a USB thumb drive. All of my home devices are networked and have a NAS so transfer is convenient. On the go, smartphones can provide that type of utility now. I could not really think of a good use case for myself anymore which is a bit wild since they used to be so ubiquitous as a computer tool.

Was all set to get the Samsung duo after this review, unfortunately, it appears out of stock in most places. Wondering if Samsung discontinued...

This flash drive is good for the price. I bought one near this price to store home videos converted from VHS and didn't want to spend money on a monthly fee to store 80GB worth of video. The speeds are decent, but it can get a bit hot if you're constantly transferring large files.

I've gotten 270MB/s with my 64GB Samsung, close to advertised speeds. USB 3.0 or 3.1 port required, in a USB 2.0 port it is very sluggish like typical cheap drives.

The Sandisk here is a slow, mediocre drive, but handy for small files and its dual-connector design. The detent that holds the connectors out for usage has no durability, which is annoying.
