Then you are probably fine. For me Hisense can't replace it so they are just sending a guy out to destroy it and refund me a check that's going to take up to 6 weeks to arrive.
Edit: I see some claims in here stating that the posterization issue is Dolby Vision related. For my unit that was not the case. The issue occurs regardless of source, resolution, type of HDR or lack thereof, or type of content. Happens with streaming, gaming, and pure source content regardless of resolution or framerate. Just do your testing, it might not be all panels.
In any case, regarding the U8H. I'm torn whether to buy it or not (need a secondary TV for the basement). It has been garnering very good reviews from reviewers on YouTube and tech publications. However, if you jump to the owner's thread on AVSForums, people are posting posterization images, and the color banding is just horrible - not just in games, but in any media. Coupled with the fact that it displays 4K 120Hz at half resolution, there seem to be a lot of issues with the TV. Hisense have been quick with firmware updates, so these issues may get fixed. However, the consensus seems to be that the TV's processor is quite underpowered, thus leading to image processing issues.
I'm still on the fence with regards to this TV; waiting to see if Hisense resolves the major issues in the next few weeks. If they don't I'll probably go with the TCL R655 instead; it's not as bright and color accuracy on Hisense is supposed to be better; but then the TCL doesn't have as many deal-breaking issues either. Anyone considering the U8H, I would suggest combing through the AVSForums thread to see if the set's issues might bother you.

It's def not perfect but neither are any of the bigger brands (Samsung, LG, Sony) of which anything comparable has their own glaring issues. And where the Hisense excels, it REALLY shines (brightness, contrast, black levels, & color accuracy) it blows away the other brands at much less cost (up to half the cost).
The TCL 655 is def. nice but all of the trustworthy reviewers confirm that Hisense is notably better HDR image & color, and some even noted that the Hisense motion processing is better than TCL.

On the TCL R655 - I thought many reviews said that the motion was better in the TCL; that being one of its advantages over the Hisense. And so I'm surprised that you mention the opposite. In any case, I believe it should be close enough. And its color accuracy may not be as good, but for casual watching I doubt most people will care. And it's bright enough (at least in my use case - just need one in front of exercise machines in basement; no bright windows)
Really wondering whether the Dolby Vision and 120Hz issues on the U8H are worth it. I don't intend gaming on this TV, so 120Hz issue won't impact me immediately. But for future proofing it's not worth the risk if not fixed (years from now the TV may land up in our bed room and I might want to game there instead). By the way - some of the ugly posterization images posted on AVSForums are are high def YouTube videos. I don't think YouTube has DV - so maybe the issue persists in other modes (or maybe they are putting the TV in 120Hz mode, who knows).
Anyway, I believe your assessment that when it's good the TV is REALLY GOOD. The only question is whether it's worth the baggage that it comes with.🤷
