It's a 105W RTX 3070. Lol
I'd easily take a full wattage 3060 any day. The current FP deal on Acer Predator is a million times better than this for the same price.

P.s. I checked for the brightness. On Best Buy in the Q&A Asus has mentioned the brightness to be 300+ nits. However, on their official website [asus.com] there's no such thing mentioned in the listing. I could be wrong, but chances are unlikely.

Looks like a great price, I just purchased https://slickdeals.net/f/16140919-asus-rog-strix-g15-ae-gaming-laptop-ryzen-9-5980hx-15-6-512gb-ssd-rx-6800m-1099-99-f-s?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Looks like that one has a better display, and this one is newer (released on 2022)

True, and actually this is a 95W 3070, not even 105W. It's exact same perf as 140W 3060 as Predator. Probably with lower noise but with a weaker CPU, worse screen and cheaper build quality. Both passed for me. Hopefully there gonna be a real 3070 at this price range.

80W + 25W w/ Dynamic Boost = 105W

And yes, hopefully.

In some very reliable testing, this machine can only run with 95W GPU (1.2Ghz) for GPU only pressure test. It can never reach 105W.

Why on earth would a company make a laptop with a 3070 and cap it at 105w?

Seems like a waste of a 3070 no?

Just an FYI for people wondering about the underpowered 3070 vs full powered 3060.

RTX 3070 95W vs RTX 3060 130W Laptop | 10 Games comparison

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra2XgADdvXc

Do take into account that the comparison is with 2 different laptops so I'm not sure how that would affect the results in either direction. Watching the video it looks like they're more or less identical in performance with a minor difference in most games. There was one game where the 3060 had about a 20 fps increase IIRC.

Nope especially with the bad display. It's probably a good deal for Asus though, I can't believe they want $1500 for this when its not on sale. 😂.

Shouldn't those GPUs be about the same? Perhaps with more tensor cores and RT cores the 3070 may be better for ultra settings? Maybe not? Also, the extra VRAM is huge, even if performance is similar.
