yeah i know... ive only been trying since Feb 2022 ...
i dont care anymore at this point give me a s22 trade in price then..
curacao says they will beat bb or anyone else so ill go look at them ....
but im not sitting here any more with this phone.
I figured Union Sq. was one of them. I tried weeks ago before all the extra activate now discount from carrier, no double dipping, and they gave me the run around.
I wanted to trade in my S21 and purhcase of activate later S22 base, none of the 3 reps wanted to help me. Samsung rep at the Samsung kiosk says yeah, it'll work but I needed to speak to a best buy mobile rep to get it done since its a bestbuy purchase. BB mobile rep 1 asked what I wanted to do, I tell him and he immediately points to rep B, walking by "oh, trade in for unlocked with no plan? She will help you". Rep B then goes "nah, rep C will help you", didnt stop to see or ask what I was trying to do. Rep C listens to what I wanted to do and says "let me see if we have it". Opens the locked cage and peeks and immediately says "we don't have it" so quick as if he is lying and trying to dismiss me. I had checked online to see if it was in stock before I went, it was in stock. Fine, I'll take it as a system error. I asked if he can do the trade and order it for me and he says "no, you need to trade it online then".... I know he can do the trade in person and order the phone for me, for pick up or shipped directly to me. What am I gonna do, argue with them and make them?
Saved time and aggravation and went to Soho and got it done: trade and ordered for pick up, but even then they tried to do some sly stuff saying they're giving me a battery pack and a prepaid sim for and insisted its "free". At that point, I already knew what they're trying to pull and I've wasted enough time and didnt want to straight up call them out for what theyre trying to do; I let them ring everything up. They charged me for the extra products they said were free, they even purchased insurance on the battery pack without telling me to run up my bill. Walked to another BB and returned the extra stuff and insurance and picked up my phone a few days later. Still got what I wanted for what I was supposed to pay but it was work.
Then my wife tried to do it at the same store that worked for me, Soho, even knowing they might lie and sneakily make her purchase extra stuff, was willing to go through that and just return the extras later. They told her she can't trade in her S21 because it was unlocked which is BS. She walked to Chelsea and traded it with no issue, no run around, and no lies to run up the bill.
It's not only incompetence, some employees just don't want to work and are just there for the hours. Some will lie and sell you stuff saying it's free. It's NY, they think everyone walking in is a tourist and they can give you the run around or scam you and think they'll never see you again.

Why dont you try and let us know. And while on your way out take one or the demo phones along with you.
My BB rep couldn't get the $250 Tmo discount to apply to a pickup/delivery phone order, so I went with the 128 GB variant they had in stock. He also couldn't apply the "extra" $91 promo value to accessories or the gift card so that is essentially lost unless you choose a more expensive phone (like the Ultra or 256 S22+ if they have it in stock).
So, start to finish, I bought a used locked S21 128 from Amazon for about 320, and got the S22 128 and $200 BB gift card. I did go through with a cheap case and screen protectors for $15x2, but it's totally worth it to try to keep BB doing this promo in the future
***If you have Verizon, the Samsung rep said they are offering the TIV deal plus 250 and another 250 for upgrades. This would likely net a $450 BB GC if buying same phone and trading same phone. EDIT: Judging from the post above mine, the Verizon discount is equal to Tmo, just an extra $250 with "loss" of value unless you get a pricier phone.
Final OOP cost ~$120 plus the time to research and have the BB rep try several attempts to do the 256 variant and try to apply lost value, etc.
$200 BB GC and phone in hand...I'm a happy camper!
Sorry to everyone who have terrible experiences with this. The BB I went to was a great experience, essentially going above and beyond to try to maximize the value for me. All I had to do was be patient and walk the reps through the steps that you all shared on here. Good luck and happy holidays!
Thanks

Just shady behavior overall. Most of these stores outright deny the promotion or add in requirements. I tried several over the past few months out into deep Long Island and it's basically similar stories. No luck anywhere.
If people in this area are getting the deal, please list the store.
