All of these budget friendly computer cases are making me want to build a computer with my 6 year old. I've never built a PC before from scratch but have done simple upgrades like drives, RAM, Dual NIC.

Any resources to direct me towards for motherboard and processor? This would just be for a Blue Iris server so pretty simple setup.

I just bought this case a week ago for my kids first computer so we could play Minecraft together. We haven't built in it yet, still getting the rest of the parts, but I'm planning a Ryzen APU, no overclocking, pretty low-power build. I just needed something cheap, didn't even care about airflow. Although airflow at least looked decent in this case. It had a bit more bling with the rgb fans that I thought my boy would like and it's otherwise understated and not gaudy-looking to keep in my office too. So those are the reasons I went with it 👍

Edit: note there is a removable tray on the right side so you can put fans there venting out the side (or an AIO). There is no front intake at all.

I have this case, i bought it for 80~ on sale a year ago. it has held up well, the air flow is pretty good, the RGB is nice although in order to get it working on my motherboard i have to buy an adapter for it but YMMV regarding that. The RGB will still work but it wont be configurable. I believe it works without the adapter with other motherboards though. It also has a area underneath the main motherboard that allows you to cleanly hide the cables. It can also fit i think 2-3 HDD/SSDs but dont quote me on that. The design and RGB bar is a nice touch. It's not the craziest case but for a budget build, especially at 50$ it is a great buy.

I would probably get a ryzen 3200g, which is a 4 core chip with a iGPU so you wont have to get a external GPU. You're probably best off waiting for one of the CPU/Motherboard combo deals where you can probably snag both for 150~. Alternatively, if your ever going to run more stuff at your house you might want to get a six core CPU and then just run your other things in virtual machines, although this is much more complex. Proxmox is a good software option to facilitate virtual machines and its free.

It's always that price on Amazon.

I have this case and, although it's a great deal and looks great, the fans speeds cannot be adjusted, so expect it to be pretty noisy forever (although not awful).

I miss the days of cheap $20 cases. I have so many old parts I could make decent PC's with to give to friends and family but hate dishing out $50 for some case with RGB and a window. Just need something basic and cheap.

Is there another rosewill RGB case also on Newegg for 50$? That's way better than this one and has actual air flow

If you have a Microcenter nearby you could go after the 12700k + Asus TUF deal for 349.99. I say Intel due to Quick Sync and the UHD 770 is quite a bit better than HD 630 that are seen on 11th gen Intel and below. If you are using DeepStack it should do well considering I've seen people run DeepStack on an i5-6500. You could also buy a used system Optiplex off ebay for < $100 with at least an i5-6500, then buy a Quadro P200 and get good results that way. However, that will be more work transferring the MOBO and other components over and won't be nearly as future proof. In the end, it's about what you need and can afford.

Might be a stupid question, but can you turn off the lights on these?

Damn this was 56.99 a couple of days back when I scooped. No way to price match I guess.
