Non-TotalTech Members price is $249.99. I have had this since 2018. So far so good!

You must not live in a cold weather area. Being able to start up your car while inside, when your car is covered in snow, and freezing cold. That's the use case.

Insane deal! I think the best this has ever been was $120 2 years ago. I've got this installed on 4 cars so far, and it has never failed me.

why would anyone want to start the car remotely? what's the use cases here?
I don't know why people down vote an honest question. Also in Florida before leaving work in the freaking 100⁰ F sun, you car being cold is priceless.

My wife loves it to warm up her car and seats. It's a gas waster to me

Anyone know of anything that works on newer model Mercedes? Hate the idea of paying a subscription.

I really don't care about the two way notification thing, I just want to be able to remote start when it's cold outside.
As the owner (well, my wife's car) of a 1 way starter, trust me, you want the 2 way. In the middle of winter, when you're hitting the remote from your bedroom window and trying to figure out if your car started or not, it's nice to know it for certain from the remote

Staffing I would assume. Who wants near min wage to do that kind of work that requires a lot of training knowledge and risk? Totaltech making it worse by making it too cheap to get installs
This has to do with no staffing. I had to drive over an hour to get my installation in my car. I didn't mind. I dropped off the car and I went shopping at the outlets next to Best Buy. I got a ride there and a ride back when my car was done.

It's obvious what you meant, no need to clarify.

Works well enough. Best Buy installation is a crapshoot. Tell them to utilize the full function of the remote device. For example auxiliary keys to activate the rear windshield defroster, since some cars need that to be physically triggered as opposed to the front windshield which is usually automatic if you leave that defroster on when you exit the vehicle.

Also keep in mind that the remote starting process itself will trigger the check engine light and in some cases the VSC or slip indicator lights to flash, sometimes regularly, in some vehicles. Something about the O2 sensor not playing nice with this remote starting mechanism. With that said the device has worked nicely for 2 winters now.
I had no problems with my install and my car works beautifully with my remote start. I've had it for about a year.

No. You still need the key to drive away

According to their website my car would work but does anyone have any actual experience with an automatic Jeep wrangler JKU with the standard door locks and windows? I've read conflicting info on websites regarding remote start and this model.

For those looking for a remote start using your original keyfobs and DIY install in under 30 mins I suggest you look into the Fortin brand. Been really happy with mine and installed it on others too.

How do you know if it works on your car model? Don't see that info anywhere on the site.

Is this compatible for 2008 Toyota Prius. Looks like I can't buy using my Prius anyway to get around and get the deal?
