I have two of Netgears business class access points, and have no access to them at all because of the pay-to-play model they've implemented.

How much is the subscription and would I be able to get rid of my Verizon router or does it need to connect to that router as well?

Is there an issue with dual band mesh ap? I don't follow this very closely these days and have a few year old Orbi 5 setup, wondering if this would be better for things like game streaming to VR or handhelds.
As far as I'm aware, you can still access them perfectly well when connected to the network where these devices reside. Sure, it's not the same as opening the Insight app and doing (very basic) management from there, but you wouldn't completely lose access to them once Insight expires.

Fyi- If you have latest 2.5gbps capable modem this will not compliment it.
Yes, remote access and app access seem to be nill. You can access them locally from the web browser but functions are removed if you don't use insight. Which features these would be would differ between products so you would have to look that up.
I edited the original message to make that more clear, sorry for any confusion.
