I got the Costco version of this and hated it and returned it. Constantly pressing the power button by accident and it didn't shave close. Costco now carries a newer model which I'm totally happy with.

I got their 6540 model from Costco for $70 down from $90 a few months ago.
It has been OK not great
I have had different models of Norelco and Remington over the years
Remington products cut much better but different pieces failed - they kept giving me replacement razors, restarting the warranty each time, and so I ended up with 4 razors after buying one, and each one lasted close to a year before having a problem
BY contrast, the Norelco;s have lasted years, but they get slower and slower - batteries fatigue out and the cutters are expensive.
I have tried them at different price points and I cannot say that the more expensive ones are any better. They just have more gimmicky features. Given that, $35 is an excellent price for getting this model since it will include a fresh set of cutters - which cost just as much

Bought mine from cvs and it's not worth the money. Does not give a close enough shave.

I have used a Panasonic brand shaver for years without an issue it was recommended by my barber. I have only replaced the blades twice in 10yrs, but it's time lay it to rest. I'm on the fence with this unit , but at $35 is hard to resist.

My favorite by a long shot are Panasonic. Decently close shave and even with shaving my head for a couple years I don't need to replace anything on it.
I second the Panasonic, I have been pleasantly surprised by it's performance and durability over years.

I've used all sorts of electric razors over the years.

Foil-based (Panasonic, Braun) seem to work best overall, but not by much. The quality of the shave for me is far outweighed by the horrific pivoting head designs that can't be cleaned except by use of their proprietary cleaning contraptions which I don't like to keep buying "cleaning cartridges" for. Well, you could mix some DIY acid-containing cleaning fluid and leave it in an ultrasonic bath i suppose, but that is too much. Eventually, the accumulation of mineral deposits and random gunk that sits on top of it, ruins them.

Every single Norelco rotary razor I've had has been extremely easy to clean. They don't shave quite as closely, but it's good enough and one can finish with a manual razor.

I may be doing something wrong, let me know if theres a better way to maintain foil razors.

Can you use the shaver while it is plugged in?
No you can't ...but you can and should be using it in the shower....

Any electric razor that can be used in the shower is the only way to go...

It cleans itself as you shave when u do this and you get the closest possible shave next to a straight razor but no cuts or razors burns...I included my YouTube on this subject back on page

Here's my video again for those who can't go back thru the messages to find it....

Try it in the shower with some gel and be amazed.

For Panasonic I just use liquid hand soap and water, then hold the power button for a few seconds to put it in cleaning mode. Everything comes out squeaky clean.

I do the same with all of these razors, but I guess my water must have a lot more mineral deposits in it. So even rinsing it clean with soap and water, the water itself is "dirty". With the Norelcos, I have the same problem except I can easily disassemble the heads to clean the deposits out.

I have pretty much given up on such shavers as it still irritates. I am happy with couple of days of shave. Keeps my skin happy. I wish if there's a day when they don't burn skins

I have a beard trimmer that I use at the closest setting to keep my facial hair at stubble-length and then another electric for a closer shave of my neck, but both units are old and don't hold a charge. Is there a decent all-in-one that would serve both of my needs (e.g., I see that this unit and the Costco 6600 someone recommended have a detachable beard trimmer)? Or am I better off with separate units?
