I just recently replaced our Linksys Velop Mesh system with this; huge improvement so far! The Linksys was fine for the 2+ years we had it, but the past few months it started giving us issues (frequent connection drops for random devices being the primary one). Whew and that app, it was always slow to update. The eero system so far has been very reliable, no signal issues and honestly seems like a general improvement in network speeds.
Needing advice on the below. Or maybe another suggestion.
Torn between this, TP-Link deco x55 or the NETGEAR Orbi Pro WiFi 6 (SXK3OB3). The x55 has 20% back using Amazon card, the Netgear is a large discount but the eero I can get 25% refund for trading in a router.
All are dual band. It'll be for in-laws (upgrading from 2 Google onhubs) in a single story 2,700ish sq ft. U-shaped older house. Only wifi 6 devices are the smartphones.
I bought this at best buy for the same price and used the 15% trade in discount. The system was ultra easy to set up and my speeds are literally 5x what they were before.
One thing I didn't realize is that routers (as well as modems) age and become incapable of providing peak performance regardless of their specs.
I spoke with the "router expert" at Best Buy because I can't keep up with the tech and he said this was the "better" option in the good, better, best, line up of what they sold in store. He said the Eeros pro series was best… but we just use the internet, stream, and light gaming.
I'm pulling 800mbps everywhere in my single floored large home and have great connectivity in the shop and around the property.
Highly recommend.

These will blow away those Tp link units. I install both and the tp link never gets firmware updates.

That's not true at all. I got updates on my tplink all the time. But the performance (or lack thereof) didn't work for me hence the need for an upgrade.
The Range Extenders don't have a long life. I have the Eero 6 and have had to replace one under warranty and currently have another that is dead. Hoping that will be replaced by then as well.
I upgraded from google wifi (original 3 pack, which is about 5 years old) to this but did not notice much improvements. I have them connected via ethernet backhaul. Also, google provides parental control and detailed usage analytics for free, for eero you need a monthly subscription.
