Sigh…. I paid 450 for this about 16 months ago.

I don't love it.

Edit : wireless sub is right next to the soundbar and drops connection at least once an hour. It's super annoying.
I had my eye on this set for a while when it was on sale for $229 last few days. I almost pulled the trigger. But after reading reviews again and again, I finally went to buy Vizio M512a-H6.

My decision is based on my experience with TV HDMI port and this SB-600 does not support DTS audio. With my blu-ray directly connected to TV via HDMI and the audio passthrough to sound bar via HTMI eARC, it's pain to change TV audio passthrough settings every time if I play blu-ray with best audio on DTS (e.g. my Tenet blu-ray disc only has DTS-TrueMaster audio, no Dolby Atmos). So, I want the sound bar can decode all or most audio format and TV only need passthrough whatever it gets. M512a-H6 handles that well but costed me $350. Had M512a-H6 for less than a week now and set it up in my bedroom. Really happy so far.

If your contents are mostly from online streaming, SB-600 should be fine as those contents are mostly Dolby 5.1 or Dolby Atmos.
Anyone know how this compares to the Vizio V-series 5.1 systems? Vizio lacks Atmos but its been pretty solid for me

Is it near your wifi router by any chance? I know sometimes that can cause interference with a wireless sub.

Thanks OP!

I had been looking for deals on the Vizio M512a-H6 (although I just remembered about the surround speakers needing to be connected to the sub which means wires will cross the room front to back - given that the sub should, ideally, be placed at the front of the room for best acoustics, in a single sub setup).

Anyway the SB-600 $195 price is a key factor now when the Vizio M512a has a $499 regular price and is still $399 when on sale which is still more than double the SB-600 deal.

We have a dedicated separates HT setup in our main HT room, but at the $195 price, we are buying 2 SB-600 soundbars - for secondary viewing rooms.
IMHO it is not worth spending $800 + tax (when on sale) for 2 M512A-H6 for secondary rooms.

Don't need to turn 5g off and go back to the stone ages, just change the channel your router broadcasts on

the soundbar UI has a digital display on the front of it which displays the input or volume change and remains on while in use - not ideal for most users but if you can deal with having "ARC" displayed on the front this might be a deal you can handle

You seem to be out of touch with deal prices
M512A-H6 has been $350 for couple of weeks now

Any idea if Hisense soundbar Walmart deal does same decoding job as the m512a-h6?

This or the Walmart Hisense deal? New to surround sound setups and just want some opinions. Is the 60 dollar price difference worth it? Thank you.

I haven't tested Hisense soundbar before. But Walmart on-sale soundbar is 5.1 sound system and is very appealing at $129 as it claims that it can handle Dolby Atmos as well as DTS.

Vizio M512a-H6 is 5.1.2 system which have 2 upfiring speakers to let sounds bounce down from ceiling. But I found it's hard to find movies with those sound effects. So most of time, it's just more like regular 5.1 sound environments. So, for $220 cheaper than M512a-H6 I probably give Hisense soundbar a shot.
