Just checked my CC statement it shows pending $43.13 HOMEDEPOT.COM for the ship to store drill and $43.13 THE HOME DEPOT #0XXX for the battery from store inventory.
I suppose they will be charged only after you picked up the batteries while the charge for the drill will stay pending? How long before they cancel the drill if you don't pick it up?

Is the drill+ charger + 1.5 mah worth keeping for $40? I don't have a charger.

I was able to do in-store pickup at two different locations by going to each item individually and selecting pick-up in store and choosing different stores. Battery was in-store regular pickup and drill was ship-to-store at another nearby store.

It's been about 15 minutes, but I do not see any option to cancel a single or whole order in my order history. From reading their online order cancellation options the only way to cancel is to have all items going to the same store or talking to their customer reps.

FYI: Cancel order button is visible in the phone app, but not on the account history view on a computer browser.

just to confirm that if I had them shipped to my home and I can return ONLY the drill for $40? Will they refund a different price or give any hassle for the partial return? Thanks.
Yes they should let you return only the drill but it is safer to pick up the battery from a store and have the drill shipped to another store (or even the same store since if wont come in for a few days) then you are buying the battery from the store and the drill form HOMEDEPOT.COM.

do they only charge what is picked up in this case or they will charge the entire $80 even if you only picked up the batteries? thanks.

They should cancel and refund $39.50 + tax after about a month for the item you don't pick up or you could go into the store and tell them you don't want it or pick it up then return or you may be able to call the store and tell you don't want it.

Yea, in my experience with these sort of scenarios, I usually get a call from the second Home Depot within just a few days reminding me 'my order is ready and I can pick it up at any time'.

I usually just tell them I forgot all about it and I am out of town or something so won't be able to get by and get it. They usually simply offer to cancel the order and release the hold they might have on any of your $$$.

It's never taken any more than a week or so for the whole exchange, highly recommend

I typically find it most convenient to just have both items picked up at the same store. I then go straight to returns for the unwanted item.

I am getting the batteries for $49.99 instead of $39.99. What gives?

I'm going for this approach too since both items in the promotion are $39.50, I don't see why just returning the drill right away wouldn't leave you with the batteries at $39.50 too. I'm not sure why everyone's talking about setting two different pick up stores unless inventory is limited at one store or another for each item they need to make the deal worthwhile on the batteries. Deal Repped!

Weird. I canceled from the computer. YMMV I guess.

I want a tire inflator and the ryobi one is often touted as a pretty good one. Feels kinda silly buying a drill to get a tire inflator lmao.

Guess HD figured it out. I couldn't select different stores so I shopped both to home. Went into my order history and can't cancel a part of the order. It's all or nothing. Hope I don't run into the same issue trying to return the drill
