In for one, nice good shave with long baterry life. Forgot my charging cord in my mobile home when I was evicted, while in the homeless shelter for 3wks. This things a beast. 😁

Just an FYI that these are the older gen, LV65 vs the newer gen LV67.

Last year I got the LV67 at BestBuy for $119.

It will take a few days for your skin to get use to it as with any shaver. I use it in the shower and rinse it it under the shower head. Definitely can shower with

I've had one for a year, does anyone know if you really need to replace the foil the first time opposed to just buying the 2 inner blades (much cheaper) ?

I wonder what one actually does most of the cutting

AFAIK you only need to change inner blades. Foil is just letting you not get cut your skin while blades cutting your hairs. You may change foil if it is damaged by anyway(rust/dropped)

That's what I thought. It's just the WES9170 that's $20 on Amazon, right ?

Sorry I got mixed up the model. Arc5 has outer blade attached to foil so you will need to get both outter blade and inner blade to maximize effect. Search for es9032 there is set.

I used to use these for years and still do if I am in a rush.
Few years ago I got a wet shaving kit. Quality silvertip badger brush good razor and variety of blades. Soaps that smell like HEAVEN 😍
I shave at night and don't have to mess with it in the morning now.
No bumps no irritation, baby butt smooth until the next night!!!!
NEVER GOING back unless I need a quickie in the shower or vacation disposable razor.

The classic ways are always better!

I owned both this & the braun 9. The Panasonic gives the noticeably closer shave. Both shavers struggle with the neck area though. That's the biggest annoyance, have to go through numerous passes on the neck to get the same level of shave as the face. If I'm time constrained, I'll use a manual razor for the neck then pass through with the electric shaver.

Besides that, the shaver is great.

These work differently from blades. A blade shaves off a thin layer of skin which removes hair follicles and gives you a smoother shave. Risk is that you can cut yourself if not careful. Electric razors cut the hair without breaking the skin. The resulting shave is not as smooth but the chances of cuts are minimal if used properly. An electric razor can be used without soap or water which means it is convenient to use anywhere, including in your car. Lack of cuts mean that you can shave while dressed in a white shirt with no risk of blood stains on the shirt. It's a different experience.
