These are supposed to be Homebase 3 ready come January 2023, if you believe Eufy.
Wired vs battery quick info:
This has a battery but it can also be powered by an original house chime transformer which is great for those who want to place it today and work on the powered chime transformer project later. You will need a homebase where the wired version does not. The wired version also does a better job of picking up the few seconds prior to incident.

However... the booklet included with the doorbell has a different QR code (needed for setup) than the one printed on the doorbell itself. When setting this up, you need to install the eufy app & then scan the QR code on either the booklet or the back of the doorbell, to add the doorbell to the eufy app. In this case, if I had scanned the QR code from the booklet, some other doorbell would have been added to my app, *not* the doorbell included in my package.
The same thing happened to me when I bought the refurbished eufy 1080P doorbell from Amazon last year. And this year, from Anker. So this seems to be a common issue. I blindly followed the directions last year and was stumped for several minutes, until I compared the QR codes on the booklet & doorbell and saw they were different! What an annoyance. At least this time I knew to watch for it. When Anker/3rd parties refurbish these units, they need to either (a) ensure the proper matching booklet is included, or (b) add an insert indicating folks should scan the QR code on the back of the doorbell during setup.
Anyway, long story short, this refubished unit looks fairly close to brand new. I barely installed it earlier today, but so far it is working well. Anker sold it with a 2-year warranty, so if it lasts at least that long, I'll be happy.
If I buy the battery version, can I hardwire it? If so, does it extend battery life/"replace" the battery? Will it work with a 10VA transformer, or do I still need to upgrade to the 30VA transformer?
