Good deal. 1080p only though.

Might buy one just for the remote. Resell on eBay with my old remote.

The 1st gen Apple TV 4k remote has less buttons and no directional pad. It just uses a trackpad for navigation. Most people prefer the one that was introduced with 2nd gen 4k model.

This remote is far better than the previous version. More durable and easier to use.

Can you use this as a Homekit Hub?
Yes! I am using it as a Homekit hub. Also supports iOS 16.

At this price, I'd add $21 and get the 4k version. Even if your current tv isn't 4k, your next one might be. Why not just future proof the investment for $21 more. Costco has the 4k version for $80.

Wow. Was gonna put the $18 Google TV onto the old HDTV for the kids, but at this price it might be worth it.

I bet this is labeled wrong .. 2nd Gen 4k is more likely than 2010 ATV.

Heads up, the HD versions are not just limited to 1080p compared to the 4k, there's quite a few missing features compared to the 2017 4k, 2021 4k and obviously 2022 4k (64Gb and 128Gb flavors). Notable one is HomePod audio is completely gimped, you can't set HomePod (or Mini's) as Default Audio Out like you can on any of the 4k versions.

While it was updated to have the same remote as the 2021 4k and onwards, but it has still been unchanged since 2015. It will still blow any competing box out of the water (Google TV, Roku, Fire, and honestly Nvidia Shield Android TV unless you have a very specific use case for that $200+ box, yes I have both).

Why do I keep seeing the remote mentioned? Are they breaking or do you like this remote better? Thanks
So just a heads up. The original remote is pretty bad, but you can download the "remote" app on your iPhone which makes it far better. I would prefer the remote that comes with this one but I do ok with the app on my phone.

Already been stated but worth noting again that this is the 1080p version, NOT 4k. Still a pretty good deal but know what you're getting.

I much prefer the older one. Easier to rewind and fast forward. 🤷🏻 ♂️😅
