Been this price since Thanksgiving. Great price, especially when you combine with (Currently 10%, was 15%) CB thru the big R CB site. Another 5% CB via Chase Freedom card.
Have this one for a few months. I wanted to use it downstairs (run it nightly compared to upstairs) and moved my roborock s5 upstairs. My roborock is a better cleaner on all fronts and has less reasons to stop. But for how busy I get, the auto empty is great. If you don't need auto empty, I'd get a roborock again (I bought mine refurbished and it's still amazing)
I bought this unit back in April at a similar price. No regrets. Use it daily on LVP flooring. We have a German Sheppard that sheds alot and it does a great job of cleaning. If I run Moe daily he picks up and empties the bin without issue. If I let it go a few days, I tend to have to clean the dust bin as he sheds alot and it clogs up. At times we have 2 additional golden retrievers staying with us, and he still picks up all the hair they leave behind. The mopping is a very nice feature, I alternate between the mop and the vac (as we have some area rugs). The mopping gives a surface cleaning, not a deep clean. So I wouldn't buy it for the mopping, yet I use that feature alot and like it, just wouldn't say it is a deep cleaning mop job.

Again, no regrets purchasing it. Would buy it again. This seems like a very good deal.

Also have this (same price last year at Walmart I believe). I like it overall, but there are definitely a few issues/glitches with mapping/the app. I also wish that the app had more features like forcing the vacuum to go through one room to get to another room. A bit of a learning curve I'd say, but overall a great price

It's crazy this has been going on sale for $299-$399 for a couple years now and the newest version is still over $1000 on sale. This does a great job vacuuming and actually worth it. What does the $1000 version do so much better, besides mopping, to justify the price?

Probably has higher suction, better object avoidance, better self emptying, etc. Most of which the average consumer may or may not notice or care about. It's like a lot of products where you pay the premium to have the best even if the budget model does 90% of the expensive model.

I bought the s7 maxv ultra and question if I should have just saved the money and got something else that would still be very good

We are a 2 adult, 1 year old, and dog household. Bought this for our single floor 1300 sq ft condo last year and we absolutely love it. Are there more advanced solutions out there? Yes. Are they worth the extra $$$ compared to what you're paying for this kit? I would be hard pressed to justify it.

The water reservoir lasts 2 whole house cleanings, or 3-4 "spot cleans" around the high traffic areas. It says not to add anything to it but we've had no problems adding Bona floor cleaner solution (diluted, of course).

Mapping took 2-3 passes to get right, once it did I never had to touch it again. Switching between hardwood/carpet (we have low pile rugs) is as simple as removing the mopping attachment. You can even lift it and place it in a different room and the bot will orient itself correctly and find its way around correctly 90% of the time.

It comes with several mop attachments (microfiber as well as "disposable" which we've sent through the wash for multiple uses with no problem) as well as 2 dust bags to put in the large collection canister. Replacement parts are relatively cheap on Amazon and AliExpress, although we still haven't had the need to re-order anything yet after 1 year of use.

I have a long-haired cat who's basically a shedding machine. Each time this bot runs, it returns with a giant foam-like brick of cat hair which the base station cannot extract, even after taping over one of the dust bin's two emptying ports as several YouTubers and forum posts have recommended. I can't really blame it—the fur-brick takes some welly to yank out by hand, the rollers usually need detangling anyway, and I'm impressed that the vacuum hasn't simply choked to death—but for me the auto-emptying functionality isn't the panacea I'd hoped.

I have 2 of these that replaced 2 Roborock S5's. I got the 1st one for $288 in May and the 2nd recently for $199 during a Black Friday flash sale directly on Ecovac's website. I have a German Shepherd who sheds a lot and I was tired of cleaning out the S5 dustbins a few times a week. While the Ecovacs has its quirks, I have gotten it working reliably now with a few mods I found on Reddit.
  1. Dog's fur getting stuck in dustbin on the vacuum - Adding a small piece of duct tape to hold one of the flaps in the removable dustbin fixed that problem and now fur gets sucked through the 1 remaining hold easily.
  2. I have some dark rugs and it would get stuck saying the drop sensors were dirty even when clean. I used white electrical tape on the drop sensors except the 2 near the front where I used red electrical tape. Otherwise it won't clean the bin after docking. This blocks the drop sensors, so be careful if using this where the vacuum could fall (e.g. stairs).
  3. Map would get overlayed with an identical map, but at an angle causing problems with no-go zones. I would have to delete the map and start over. I changed my scheduled cleaning from "AUTO Cleaning" to "Area Cleaning" and I haven't had the problem since.
The Roborocks are better machines in many respects, but the auto empty bin is so convenient.

R CB ramped over the holiday weekend and has been slowly going up and down from then. Today I believe it is 5% but could go up again over the weekend.

Will note the amount of CB varies by category… this is considered Home.

Is it possible to break the space into sub-sections and schedule to clean one at a time, emptying after each 'sub-section' is cleaned. Maybe this would put less hair in the bin and allow it to auto-empty?

I know I have mine tied into a Home Assistant instance and have the ability to schedule cleanings for different rooms at different times - unsure if the app itself can do this?

Anyhow, just a thought.

I'm a total newbie to robot vacs but I have this one and it works like a champ. I did mod the ports where it sucks out the dirt by putting some electrical tape over one of the holes so all the power is diverted to the other just due to having a mastiff and a savannah cat which we gets lots of slobber and fur lol. I have it set to run daily at 10 am and while the mopping feature doesn't do that well of a job the thing works like a champ for vacuuming for us.

According to Vacuum Wars on YT, ecovacs do better at mopping than specialized robot mops.
