I have 2 of these cameras and they have treated me well. For this price, you cannot complain. I shoot magazine covers as well as film YouTube videos with mine!

I can only see that price WITHOUT a lens. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong?

How frustrating. I just bought this last week without the free lens from amazon for $1500. Not that it's a lens I particularly want, but still... frustrating.

This is an incredible camera if you spend the time to learn how to use it properly. I paid a little bit more for the same exact deal and have zero regrets. It is a great stills and video camera.

If only they would make versions of these cameras with all of the video functions software disabled (to not incur those licensing fees / import taxes) and sell it alongside the video versions.

Owning two of these cameras, they are great. Unbelievable value for what you get especially if you shoot video. I just picked up the atomos ninja v to get 6k prores raw recording if I want it.

Biggest cons: autofocus in video and photo for fast moving subjects. Moire a little on photos with certain fabric patterns like suits.

Beyond that, compact size, body stabilization, vlog color for video, dual iso in vlog at 640/4000 iso, video features, battery life, and sd cards vs more expensive cfexpress.

I'm not sure that would make any difference other than cripple the camera's abilities. At these price points, there's nothing even close from the competition that has the features and capabilities of this. Lumix cameras are already some of the best value cameras, and with these promotional prices, you can't beat their value proposition.

In a way, for those who can benefit from the capabilities of Lumix S5, the fact that Panasonic is a minor player in this space, and that they are behind their competition in video AFC, we're able to get these cameras with incredible image quality and features at such a low price. If or when Panasonic figures out how to out class their competition in video AFC, they will likely demand prices comparable to Sony A7s III. Rumor already has it S5 Mk2 is going to be significantly higher in MSRP.
