Just a heads up with Amazon…only buy an iPad if you're 100% sure you want to keep. I bought an iPad from Amazon that I wanted to return. They won't let you take it to Kohls or UPS to return. Amazon had to schedule a UPS pickup from my house. Then they require you to wait up to 30 days before issuing a refund since they have to inspect it due to being a high ticket item. They received the iPad I returned on 11/14 and still no refund. I never even removed the seal from the iPad box. For me it's a lesson learned to avoid Amazon when it comes to Apple products.
Someone here on Slickdeals commented the same thing before and I thought it was just that person or they were exaggerating. Nope. According to the multiple Amazon reps I spoke with this is standard practice for Apple products.

I ended up buying an open box for around $450. I bought the Walmart deal for the 4th gen but I'd rather pay an extra $100 for the M1 for future proofing and extra features. Thanks for posting.

how does this compare to the walmart deal a few weeks back, my apologies not very knowledgeable when it comes to ipads, 2020 Apple 10.9-inch iPad Air Wi-Fi 256GB - Green (4th Generation. I paid 499 for each, got 2 for the kids. Not even sure if I can return them, purchased Nov1st, meant for Christmas as presents

Huge difference between M1and A14. Also 5th gen has double the ram of Air 4. So it's better to return and buy this one

If I buy $250 BB gift card to get the $25 amex credit, I'd apply that 250 to the $654 total, making it $404. Then pay the remaining $404 with Paypal/Chase Freedom card and get 5% cashback from the $404 amount.
