75" version $62 more -- available for local-pick only...
FWIW... the Rtings review/info is for the 65" with an IPS panel (low contrast). Therefore, since Rtings heavily weights contrast in it's movie and gaming rating criteria, their ratings for movies and gaming are mediocre/low. Since the 70" in this thread has a VA panel (higher contrast), one can expect that it will perform better for movies and gaming than the Rtings review suggests.

The Hisense A6G is an okay TV overall. The wide viewing angle and decent reflection handling make it a decent choice for watching shows during the day, but it isn't bright enough to fight glare in a well-lit room. It's also okay for watching sports as its motion handling is okay. It doesn't have advanced gaming features, but its input lag is low, so the overall gaming experience isn't bad. Unfortunately, it's poor for watching movies in dark rooms because it has a low native contrast ratio and sub-par black uniformity. It also doesn't get bright enough to make highlights stand out in HDR.

PROS
Upscales low-resolution content well.
Image remains accurate at an angle.
Huge selection of streaming apps.

CONS
Mediocre contrast.
No local dimming.
Not very bright.

Seems like a good deal.

I'm trying to find a 40 to 50" TV but there's nothing out there right now.

Chase offers and amex offers each have $25 off $250 at BB. If you add a soundbar to this and split payment across both cards, you'll get $50 back (source: I did this)

This vs the TCL 75S45 for $100 more (and 5 inches more)?

I'm staying away from TCL's over 40" based on recent experience with a 55" with insane edge light bleed, poor QC, and other issues.

Bestbuy has a U6DG 55" that I've seen for $269 with great reviews.

Bought this TV last year. For a cheap TV it has been great. Hulu app can get a bit wonky but that's really the only problem I have had.

Perfect Timing. Parents TV just went kappoots. Was going to get the 65" A6 from Costco for $399 (missed the $349 deal a few weeks ago)

But this is 5" more for the same price. I love Costco warranty, but essentially the same TV but BB has 5" more, and Costco has warranty. I went for the bigger TV.

Let's hope it doesn't crap out on me in a year.
