For the people that don't need a gpu, you can build a 5600g($110) with 16gb ram($41) and 500gb nvme($30) for $310. $60 for a A520 or ebay has boatloads of b450s for $50-$60. Newegg has a case and 400w psu combo for $50. Add, $18 for kb/m. OS is free.
If the 5600g isn't enough for Warzone 2 then go to ebay and pickup a rx 580 $80 or 1660 super $130-$140.
If you don't need the 5600g, the 5500 performs the same and is as low as $89.
So, for about $370(w/rx 580) or $310(w/5600g/no gpu)you are actually doing better.
$89 5500/$110 5600g
$80 b450 prime ii
$41 16gb
$30 500gb nvme
$50 case and 400w
$80 rx 580
And look how silly the comments are becoing. It's pretty much useless Reddit.
Where are you getting this so-called free operating system?
Current active GPUs: Radeon 5700 XT, RX 570, Geforce 1080, Geforce 1070, and some quadro P400s doing transcoding in plex boxes. All run great with relatively recent drivers (last year) and recent builds of windows/linux.
The RX5500 compares somewhere between the GTX 1050ti and 1650 Super
See attached performance summary @ 1080p. (Older review from TechPowerUp)
Someone like me who gives no craps about getting this thing fast could careless. I just added 16gb ram and transferred my current 1TB SSD. 3 monitor set up to just look at charts.
No one is arguing here. You asked and I replied. And judging by the comments, you're the problem.

Yes, my system came with 1x 8Gb Stick and an adjacent open slot.

Also thanks and repped.
I Installed a crucial mx500 1tb with no issues thanks to your advice, updated the drivers and did a bios update. I ended up ordering the same 8gb stick as you and will install that tomorrow when it arrives. It is very zippy and so far runs like a top. I noticed on the box it had the word demo on the side (mine arrived in an original box, very beat up but otherwise fine). Using crystal disk info the disk drive had only been on for an hour prior to my purchase.
Anyone else got theirs up and running? Any interesting additions?

Unlike some other people have experienced, I was happy to learn that it came with the advertised processor and video card. I was disappointed when I opened the case to discover it doesn't have any available PCI slots. The pictures of the case back showed what looked like four slots, one of which was taken by the video card. When I actually got the system and opened it up, there aren't any actual slots behind three of those covers. That meant I couldn't install my internal Wifi 6 adapter card. Disappointing, but not a deal breaker.
Ordered 32 gb of memory and a 2nd SSD drive, so once these arrive this should be a solid machine. It's going to replace my 10 year old box that I use for digital audio recording and light video editing. Should work great for that.
