I just grabbed 2 of them.

Picked it up this afternoon. Nice overall, screen manufacturer|device ID is CMN1538 Innolux IPS panel. Backlit keyboard is very nice with two levels of brightness control and off state. Will add 8gb stick, upgrade wifi to Intel 6 and swap drive for 1TB that I bought earlier. Will post pics once I get it opened. converted to Win 11 home with no issues. came with F21 latest bios installed.
Thanks appreciate it. However I successfully upgraded wireless card to Intel AX210NGW. Added 8GB memory and upgraded drive to 500GB NVME drive that I had around. The first picture is as configured from factory. The other two are after upgrades installed.
This is the "better" 4 core i3, if that matters to anyone.

Is it worth $50 more than this laptop?

Acer tech specs are HERE [acer.com]

IMO, the HP is better with better CPU, IPS screen, backlit keyboard and slightly bigger battery capacity (need to look at this closer). There is a previous thread here that some have confirmed HDMI 2.0 port on the HP as well. Overall it was worth it to me to spend the additional $50

THIS post confirming HDMI 2.0 port on the HP. I need to check mine.

That CPU is difficult to compare directly with the i3-1125G4 as simply more cores since the cores in question are of two different types. The newer i3-1215U will be arguably more efficient but only carries two i-series cores along with four Atom-based e-cores. The i3-1125G4 in this deal is a more traditional four i-series cores design. The 11th generation design has a long track record (even 4th generation and earlier 4-core i-series CPU computers prove useful as productivity machines). At the same time, depending upon your use case and continued optimizations, the newer big.little CPU could indeed prove more powerful.

Note that historically the best Slickdeals for laptops like the one in this listing were around $250 so I'd consider this listing a solid price.

Good luck!

Should matter a LOT as I consider the i3-1125G4 a sleeper CPU. I'd recommend the OP place the CPU model in the thread title. For many comparable deals the listing is left as "i3" in part to hide that the i3 in question is a dual-core i-series model rather than the 4-core model like the one in this deal.

Good luck!

The distinction I would make is that the lesser $250 laptop is at the median of the normal price (dual core i-series laptops regularly appear on Slickdeals between $200-300). However, quad core i-series laptops rarely get to $250 and are commonly $350. As such the Acer i3-1115 would be closer to it's "typical sale price" whereas the price for this i3-1125G4 is more correctly labeled a deal.

Good luck!
Jon

I bought the 15-dy2791wm on a WalMart pre-black Friday sale for $249 and while I believe it is worth every penny, I would pay the $50 more for the better screen in this alone. Mine also has a somewhat slower processor and I get really nice speeds on routine web and MS Office type tasks. Photoshop Essentials runs fine on it too. This one should perform a little better.
