My only advice: print a page or two every week, even if it's just to throw away. We had one that my wife used all the time for teaching materials. Worked great, didn't use tons of ink, mostly quiet. Then summer came and it sat around and we didn't use it for a few weeks. In that time one of the colors clogged, and since it didn't work right, we stopped using it more, which lead to another clogging before I could attempt to fix it. Tried every trick to get it going again, but nothing worked. We eventually just bought another and it has worked well for a couple of years now, provided we use it every week or two.
Ink is way different for subing, check out Cosmo Ink, but there are others too. Not just tshirts, wife does ceramics, leather, pleather, and tons of other things too.
Do your research though, lots of other things to buy to dive into sublimation and this printer is just one small piece.
All that being said, this is what we paid this time last year, but they've been tough to find from what my wife has said recently.
If you want it for regular printer, look on FB market for the ink, sublimators are selling there standard inks for cheap since they have no use for them. But on that note, I'd stay away from the used printers since they've been running the dye inks through them and I'm not sure you can switch back after you convert to sublimation.
We've had the all in one duplex version from Costco for a couple of years. It's more reliable than any of the HP or Canon inkjet printers we've had over the years, and the ink lasts forever, and even new at Costco, the full black+color replacement pack (good for about a year for us) is only $50, which makes it about a fifth the price per page of the HP cartridges. It's not without it's annoyances. Slower than laser, not the loudest, but not quiet either... but better than the alternatives, I think.

Is this the one that Shaq promotes? Any feedback from actual users?
I have an ET-8500. It is really nice. Prints photos well and the ink is very well priced. I don't know much about this model, but the one I have is excellent. Probably the most economical color printing you can get outside of laser.

Got one from Costco, the more expensive model. Prints great, don't have to worry about cartridges - but even the expensive ones have the most annoyingly tiny, low-res screens.
How much are ink refill? Is sublimation ink different than regular ink? Looks like sublimation is for clothes?

You eventually have to replace the cartridge. They wear out after frequent use. Ink is just another sub.
