This is an AMAZING price. I paid $950 for this and it was worth it. Powers my entire 1200 sq foot ranch, except for the central AC. Runs 12 hours on a full tank, very quiet especially when the draw is lower, and all my sensitive electronics hum along without any issues. I paid an electrician $500 to install an interlock, and with one flick of a switch, it powers the entire panel. I do wish this smaller model had the electric start, but it usually starts after 2-3 pulls .Its important to run it monthly under load and also use fresh gas

I don't know that this one has been on sale yet. The 8000w model has been. This one is slightly quieter, but obviously less watts. I think they are coming out with replacements for these mid tier inverter generators.

I have been keeping an eye on it. It has been on sale at Woot twice. Another deal was posted here and now this one is for the lowest price of all time.

Gotcha. I've been keeping an eye on the Wen, which has remained steady at $680. I'm pretty sure they are exactly the same, so this for $580 shipped is the best I've found for a 240v Inverter.

Do they make a natural gas kit for this?

I have this generator and can confirm it will happily run a 50 gallon electric water heater @ around 4600 watts. Great unit and honestly not as loud as I thought it would be. At lower loads its totally reasonable.

For the money its a great value.

Yes for about 170 to 180 Nashfuel on ebay will sell you the kit. Its not a plug and play. Requires some work to get it on and still get the airbox to work etc.. I just installed one on mine. I had to bend the airbox on the bottom because the attachment pushes it out a bit. Cut the supplied bracket in half and mounted it on the handle side. It worked out and I was pleased, but it does require some more detailed installation tactics than some others would. ALSO make sure you break the generator in on GAS ONLY. After the 5 hours of run time on gas you can switch to propane or NG

I've also been hoping for a discount on the Wen. It has a tt-30r port and a handy toggle switch for 120/240v. The only downside is that warranty is 2 years vs 3 for champion.

Is there a way to reliably know how much power you need for certain things? Every guide I read has wildly different numbers. Some say a fridge takes 1kW, others up to 6. A/C - everything from 12 to 30kW. Furnace - 2 to 10kW.

The cost differential on either end of the ranges is gigantic.

The Walmart one I bought for 700 gets delivered tomorrow. I guess it's going back. I wonder if Walmart with price match this. This is one of the few left without CO2 sensor.

Edit: they wouldn't price match the prior purchase or a new one, even without the 5% extra. Ordered the Amazon one and we'll see what shape the box arrives in.
