Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

I'll get TForce about this, it's long wait
The rep insisted data will be part of the new line just like every other line in my existing Simple Choice plan. I finally pulled the trigger and am keeping the chat log in case I need to fight with T-mobile later.

By the way, I still don't see the new line being added to my account. The rep said I won't see it until I activate the sim card which will take five days to arrive. It sounds like you have already seen your new line in your account.

Yes, I got it.

I just have to pay the 1 time $35 fee.
I also have Simple Choice family plan and added a line today via chat, paid $35 as well.

Do you see your new line listed in your account yet? I still have not seen it after 2 hours. The rep said I won't see it until I activate the sim card which is being shipped to me.

Worked for my simple choice. 7 lines for 150. Insane. Thanks OP!

And a quick tip. Use the iMessage business chat to talk with T-Mobile. Super simple and quick. The rep got me a line under 10 mins. Much better than their app which seems to get worse by the day

I have magenta max and insider discount and it worked for me. Not the lowest, but I pay 136 for 8 lines. 3 paid and 5 free.
that's great! how'd you get MAX so cheap? I have regular Magenta with 9 lines (now 10 with this one) and I pay $90/mo. I asked about upgrading to MAX before and the price was so outrageous that I said no way.

I am on T-Mobile One plan 9-12 lines.

I got the following response.
——————————
I see what you are saying 😊, this is regarding the Free line Christmas offer by T-Mobile.

It shows in your account that you are one of the lucky random customer who is eligible 😊.

Alright, before we proceed I would like to discuss the conditions with the offer.

Once you took advantage of the 2022 holiday unwrap offer by T-Mobile you cannot cancel a line within 12 months, once you cancel any line in the account the offer will be remove.

This free line offer will works regardless of your rate plan 😊, even you change your plan in your account you will still get this offer and this is a lifetime offer as long as your lines are active.
Thanks so much, this's is super helpful!!

Got it...

I have two lines on the Essentials 55+ plan. Oldest line is 1 year 3 months. 2nd line I have added and dropped a few times.

Tried chat first thing this morning - No dice - Rep had no clue what the promo was and said I wasn't eligible.

Then I called in and told the rep that I wanted to add the line and gave her the promo code. She checked and said I was eligible. She added the line and the sim card is on the way with 2-day shipping.

Then I went to a T-Mobile store to see if I could get a sim card with my new number so I could use it right away, but they said I had to wait until the current sim card shipped because thats when the number is generated. I did have them check my account and they showed me that the promo was applied.
I am in same boat. They said free line is added but
as I had no sim, they shipped the sim and told to call back once received so they can activate new line and then I will see this new free line, is this right?

That is correct. Actually once it's been shipped the number will have been assigned and you could go to a store if you wanted to and have them activate a sim instore. Thats what I'm going to do once mine processes overnight.

Can someone educate me please - while I get it that the line is free, it still requires a $35 investment to activate the offer. What is the benefit of this free line though - at the moment both myself and my wife each have a t mobile original magenta plan that we are each paying $60 for, so $120 a month billing under one account. So, if I invest the $35 (if I am eligible for the offer) how can this free line help me?
It really depends if you need or want additional phones. I have 6 lines and Netflix for $129/month. My wife and 2 kids and I have 4 phones. I have two phones that I got for free with bill credit. My personal phone I use also for work is very rugged and I use the others for watching netflix because of the oled screen. My work also wants a mobile device manager on the phone, that I have not done yet, but if required, I will use a separate phone specifically for work. They have the right to wipe your phone.

Used chat from the T-mobile app (Android), and was told:
"The offer is for the Magenta plan. Since you have a grandfathered plan, it is not eligible."

I have simple choice. May try my luck again tomorrow with a different rep.

T-Mobile must be swamped by people looking into this promo. Long wait times on app chat and T-Force.
