You mean like using a phone that supports dual SIM? thank you
I do exactly this. My main number has Kickback associated with it. It is my eSim and I have that Sim set for phone calls and text messages. My free line is a physical Sim and it is set for Data. I never have to worry about going over the 2 GB limit for Kickback on my main line then since data will only use my free line. My wife's phone is set up that same way.

I had to visit the store and they helped me $35 will pay for itself after a month.
Yes, I went ahead and placed the order over the text chat. TForce guy on twitter DM just disappeared after a while. Yesterday, the phone rep said I wasnt even eligible. The good thing about chat is that at least there is some written record.

I dont know about others but the way this company is managed is plain horrible.

Magenta Max 55+ plan does not qualify. I guess you are helping others to confirm 55+ plans do not qualify.
Same here, on a Magenta 55+ (not max) with two paid lines and no free line.I was told I am not qualified for this offer. I added the line by myself, it s 24h+ now, no text or discount. My bill went up by $35. I don't think any 55+ plan qualify, unless someone else report otherwise

Just a datapoint for anyone reading. We have a Magenta (not Max) plan with 2 paid lines and a free line. I chatted support twice and was told I wasn't eligible. Went online and added a line via eSim. A few minutes later and the line is on our account and the promo code "2022 BYOD Line P1" is listed under it.

The plan price shown in my account still reflects a $20 increase but since the promo code is there I'm hopeful the credit will pop in soon. If not I'll just cancel the line.

Right now it's "stuck" to my iPhone via eSim… anyone know if Tmo can transfer the line to another phone, physical sim, or something to get it off my phone so it's available for another device in the future?

Texting 611 seems to the be easy. However I am unable to add. The following is what the csr told me.....

"Thank you for waiting. I am trying to process the new line here. It's just that your account can only hold up to 5 lines. if you wish you to have this promotion to be added on your account, we are encouraging you to upgrade your plan."

Do that after a week or so later, so it will easier. Doing to many thi gs at once will possibly complicate things to not go smoothly, but that's just my two cents
So you mean add a new line with a new number. Then a week later I replace the new line number with a port from my other carrier (Google Fi)? Is this possible? Do you think it will affect the promo?

Thanks.

if I placed the order for a physical SIM with a rep, I guess I need to wait until the SIM is shipped for any changes to show up in my account, is that correct?
So far I just have the order number and the account is not showing any changes at all.

Yes exactly, just don't cancel that particular line that free BYOD line ever. The service discount/bill credits are tied to the Line of that account; not tied to the number on that line of the free promo

So how quick from ordering online through T-Mobile do you get this text about the promo? Maybe when the sim ships?
