Just as a price reference Costco Kirkland batteries, AAA or AA are $16.49 for 48, or $0.343 each, every day, and they are made by Duracell.

I have to disagree. I have Duracells and Energizer AA's and AAA's that have lasted over 10 years without issues, and have had lots of issues with Rayovacs that are only 5 years old. All stored in the same way - just different results. I won't trust Rayovac for AA & AAA any more.

I used to thing the same thing, but had so many Rayovacs leak when left in devices that I stopped buying them.

All retailers have a long way down to go, before I can see a "good deal" on batteries. For years, I bought enough to last to the next Black Friday sales. This year, nothing has come close to a reasonable discount on what I consider trusted, US made brands.

50 cents per AA for max seems pricey to me.

Rayovac are just as good and have been tested to last longer. If you need batteries this Christmas....buy Rayovacs from Lowe's. AA and AAA are on sale right now. Free delivery over $45. HACK..... If you originally select delivery during the checkout process, it will give you the option to switch to store pickup and they will give you $5 off future purchase of anything over $20. I think, don't hold me to that.

Which Rayovac are you referring to?

Absolutely not. Rayovac from the last five years are the worst. Within a couple of months they will leak and ruin everything they touch.

I've had a lot of Rayovac failures over the last few years. I switched to Duracell and had a few of them leak. Now, I only buy lithium.

i suggest watching ProjectFarm on YouTube, he always testing batteries. I don't remember seeing Rayovacs being as good as energizers, but would have to look at his vids again. From personal experience, just like others, the rayovacs leak in the gadgets. Same experience with Duracells. I put energizers on top of the list still. I also buy rechargeables which I prefer.

Yeah whoever suggests rayovac are as good is full of crap. I've lost way too many electronics and flash lights to leaky rayovacs. They leak right in their original packaging and WAY BEFORE their expiration date. I will never buy them nor let anyone I know but them lol. Energizer ftw.
