There's not many laptops in the ultra light category with a nvidia.

These are the very lightest.

And none have a 16" screen in this category.

Does that off center track pad not bug you? No way I could use the 17" daily as my hands would be hitting the track pad constantly. Many others have brought up the same issue. Many returns. You're OK with it?

I have it since September (got the 17" Costco deal) the track pad is not the world best but it doesn't bother me much. I typically pair it to my Microsoft Bluetooth mouse and it works wonder. I would never go back to smaller screen or heavier laptop lol. This is best of both worlds. My only gripe is that gaming is not good on this thing. The video card sucks but I don't game on this anyway. Mostly, I use it for work (Hard core programming).

I will LG would come out with a 17 touchscreen.
Yeah, I got the 16" 2-in-1 specifically for the touchscreen.

There's a second M2 slot. So you can just use this one for OS and apps. Or maybe just swap this one out too if you really need to.

I'm tempted, how damage proof are they compaired to ThinkPads?
Interesting question. These are supposedly designed and tested to pass seven MIL-Spec requirements. OTOH, my wife's old ThinkPad "feels" far more robust.

Nope, doesn't bother my wife nor me (we both have LG Grams). There's always going to be a touchpad to deal with, one way or another.

Those "mil-spec" things are mostly just marketing. It's not some real military certification, it's just something made up by laptop manufacturers.

Costco had/has these for about the same price BUT with the ingetrated Iris graphics and NOT the NVIDIA GeForce RTX2050 with 4GB

Is the RTX2050 that much better than the Iris graphics?

Also the Coscto has only 512mb ssd vs 1 TB NVMe Gen 4 M.2 SSD

The gaming is actually pretty decent, you just have to set the fan speed to performance in the LG Control Panel. You will at least double or triple your fps.

The integrated graphics are actually decent, but the RTX 2050 is a big leap in terms of what you can play, especially when it comes to emulation. You can emulate a most of the PS3 / X360 / Switch library.

I tried the Costco gram 17 twice and returned both. Loved the weight and screen size. Trackpad was fine, keyboard wasn't my favorite. I am one of those rare people who likes to have a number pad.

The first computer had "resume from sleep" problems and would sometimes fail to boot. Windows reinstallation did not fix. The second one was meaningfully better, but roughly once per week would get stuck on windows hello login when resuming from sleep and would require a hard power off. Maybe there's a fix, but my troubleshooting was unsuccessful.

Ended up buying a HP elitebook instead, which has been good so far but is a 16" and weighs ~4.4lbs instead of 3. I hate how manufacturers post a blanket "starts at XX weight" for preconfigured computers. If there's nothing I can select, there's no reason they can't give the actual weight (which is a half pound more than the "starts at" value).
