Got a couple phones in the past. (They've been running this promo on and off forever.)
Nightmarish experience:

- Even corporate store employees covertly tacked multiple extras onto my account (worth $80/month) despite my saying outright that I wanted the cheapest plan with no extras
- My metro app is broken
- website is broken
- porting numbers out was an adventure
- stores and employees are sketchy, but will require you to show your ID

Will not do it again. Too much aggravation, risk, and hassle.
Beware that it probably won't be a smooth ride for you.

What is the drawer trick?

And what about those folks who do not have any corporate store around?

Dealers are charging activation, insurance and tax on full price of the phone. Making this deal almost $200 OTD.

Buy two of this and hope you can get it before end of this year.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/28503028...SwAPdjaWv0

If you get them before end of 2022, you can activate one of them first and begin a new tracfone award account with a refereral code. Then add 2 devices to
it. With all of these, you should get 25k rewards points pending. In case you get them after end of 2022 and tracfone stop the 10k per line promotion, you need
to activate one of them first and add all left 3 devices later. Then you should get 26k rewards points pending.

After 2 months the rewards points vest, you need to monitor these 2 urls:

https://www.tracfone.com/phone/ap...gb-prepaid

https://www.tracfone.com/phone/ap...onditioned

Whenever they are in stock, just change your 20k reward points to a $300 discount coupon.
If it's a new phone, you only need to pay $30 + $10 (for service).
If it's a reconditioned, you can buy two and then pay $30 + $20 (for service).

Activate the iPhone after you get them and they will automatically get unlocked after another 2 months.

So it will take you around $150 and 4-5 months in total to get either a new iPhone 11 or two reconditioned iPhone 11.

At same time, you also got several years Tracfone service and several basic phones.

Then AT&T only? If so, pretty much a dead deal.

Please link to the proof. An utterance from a moron at a store doesn't count.
I bought some iphone 11 this month with a metro guy. I was in store on Friday, the system denied the port in from Verizon, and he showed me a email stated that Verizon is not qualify for the port-in promotion.

Cheapest plan is $30?
So the cheapest deal scenario would be:
$110 for month 1
$30 for month 2
$30 for month 3
$30 for month 4
$30 for month 5
$30 for month 6 and unlock and free to go to another carrier?
Grand total = $260?

Can I pop one of the SIM cards into another phone (unlocked iPhone) and use the service while I wait for points or discount?

Cricket has/had a promo for $50 iPhone 11 with port in but required 3 months of service @ 60/month. Also takes 6 months to unlock. Not sure if service was needed all 6 months but looked like could drop to $30 after first 3 months?
Got one on Xmas eve around $160 OTD with 2 months of service. It won't be unlock later since I won't stay.

30??? Maybe they're not banning Verizon ports, but are banning YOU.

Activation fee has been waived for these past few weeks, that's why OP came up with the $109 number. not sure if that deal will remain tomorrow when Metro stores reopen

I saw the system denied page for the Verizon number and the notify email, I believe if there is a denied, It might be a trick made by the Metro guy, not the system.
I added new iphone 11 to my previous account for save like $40 month fee, not opening a new account like the 30 iphones before. I guess it would affect his commision, so he did some trick to stop me.

Just wanted to add a data point, I did this deal back in June. Paid for one month of service, left the SIM card in the phone with the device off.

It unlocked after 6 months. Looked into RSIM but heard that taking sim out of phone will interrupt that 180 day unlock timer.
Same here. Did the drawer trick and phone unlocked flawlessly, now trying to sell for $400+

I did a similar deal back in early February.

2 11's for around $350, I don't remember the exact price

The reps were not as pushy and nice. They did add the insurance but I didn't mind. You have to know how to play the game when you are going for deals like this. Sometimes you have to act dumb in order to get the deal. They can deny selling you the iPhones since they know you won't keep the continuing service.

I personally wouldn't pay with a credit card. I paid with cash. They unlocked after 180 days. I did NOT pay for extra months. I only paid for the first month of service at the time of sale.
