Walmart has their Everstart brand (made by Johnson Controls) for $60. They last me around 3 years with the harsh winters here.

I stopped buying the brand name lead acid batteries, they're all made by 3 major companies in the USA. Autozone/O'Riley's want more than double for the same battery size/CCA Walmart sells - it makes no sense.

These are made by DEKA / East Penn and are rated pretty badly. After seeing the insane price increases at Advance / Auto Zone, I decided to have a look at Ford last week when I needed a battery. The Motorcraft batteries are made by Johnson Controls (Clarios) and there is a $20 off $75 coupon for new customers. I ended up paying $116 ($132 - $16 core return) for a 51R battery for my wife's Civic. Ford also had the best price on my Group 65 battery ($140 after core return) for my truck. Just be sure to check various dealers on the website as the pricing can vary by $100 between dealers for the same battery.

JCI doesn't make batteries anymore so that's impossible.

Guys. Check out your dealers for batteries. Not sure other dealers, Toyota batteries have 84 months and Honda batteries have 100 months warranty. Price is about the same or less than autozone and others.
My wife just bought a brand new battery from our Honda dealer. Only came with a 3 year warranty.

I kind of agree. Oem batteries will last 7 years. These will last 3-4. I bought these in the summer of 2021. This winter, I had trouble starting it on cold mornings below freezing.

Just bought 2 AGM Maxx batteries for my diesel truck from WM got home and discovered they were made in China in super small print.... Just check where they are really made. Its my understanding only Johnson Controls, exide, and East Penn are the only US manufacturers regardless where where the battery is purchased if labeled made in US.

Need an odd 12v size battery for my Prius. I went to the Toyota online parts and found one at my dealer for $160 with the 84 month warranty. Autozone, Advance and O'Reilly's were all around $250. It hadn't occurred to me to check with the dealer until reading your post.... insanity! Rock

I just replaced my 7 year old Panasonic battery that came in my Mazda. If I can get half that time with my new Interstate battery from Costco I'll be happy. Too bad I can't find that Panasonic battery anywhere.

Interstate Battery is not good as we think. I had two went wrong within 2years, Lexus and Honda. Never had any battery went bad on me within 3 years. Saw customers came in for exchanged so many times in the last serveral years since Costco switched to this junk brand, I know many of you will trash me . . .
