Had one of these (3GB RAM) and decided to also get a 64GB (4GB RAM) version to see the difference, and the 64GB is significantly more snappy to the point where the 32GB felt even more slow than it already is - lagging even while scrolling through settings menus with no other apps open and the problem got worse when I updated the OS. Ended up returning this one. Just my 2 cents

Got this one from Walmart during Black Friday for $139, and am very pleased with it. Bought a 512gb card to expand the storage, and have installed and moved all my apps to it. Only has 3gb RAM, but gets the job done for my needs (web surfing, YouTube, streaming apps). I have an S21 Ultra and just wanted something to use to spare the wear and tear on it. Links to my phone so that I'm able to talk and text on it while on the same wifi network at home (or wherever you go). 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos sounds great. Display looks great for a lower budget device. Great battery life. One of the best purchases I've made.

yeah, the bump from 3gb ram to 4gb ram is the big difference, 4gb of ram is the bare minimum you need to run tablet apps decently in the year of our lord 2023

This vs the recently posted iPad deal? For my purposes i would only be using a tablet for streaming videos and surfing the internet. No games or anything that would require high performance. I don't really have an OS preference either. I've used both and have been satisfied. Thanks for any input!
Depends on the source of your video streaming. If it's the typical Netflix, Prime, etc, then I would go with the iPad. You'll get a much smoother experience but you'll be dealing with a relatively locked down ecosystem. If you get your videos from less conventional means, then an Android tablet is the only way to go, and if so, get the 64/4gb that others are recommending.

Its pretty hard to beat the performance of the A13 chip in the iPad. One reviewer put it on par with a 10th gen i7 (taken with a grain of salt as it's a completely different application). Also, the accessories support for the iPad is ahead of the Samsung stuff.
I personally hate IOS (and MacOS) and Apple itself, but without a dought Apple hardware is top notch. When a sale like this hits, its very good value.
I am an android fanboy, but I actually went ahead and picked up one of the iPads because its a pretty hard to beat the value here. And to top it off, this device could probly be used as a trade in towards the new Google Pixel tablet coming later this spring. You may not even be out any money given the ridiculous trade-in values that Google has been giving out.

At this price, might want to check out the Nokia T20, which has 64/4gb but an older Unisoc CPU I believe, stock Android, expandable memory (if they keep it stock Android, most likely you get the adoptive storage function, whereas Samsung disables this on all of their devices), and better build quality. You can get the bundle (tablet + rugged case) for $150 on Nokia's website. Sign up for email and you get a 10% coupon, making it $135+tax.

The only issue, iirc, and I'm not even sure if it's still an issue, is that it only has widevine L3 certification, whereas Netflix is L1, so you wouldn't get that full HD. Again, not sure if that's still an issue or not. Nokia promises 3 years of security updates and 2 years of software updates. Reviews seem to indicate that its positive is it's pretty snappy for the specs, whereas budget Samsungs tend to be slow as hell. Probably because stock Android vs that One UI crap.

Got this on BF and gave it to my 7 year old to watch YouTube kids. The tablet is really slow but gets the job done for her. Would not get this for an adult to use.

This tablet is really terrible, I do not recommend it. I got one as a gift to use as a smart home automation device, but definitely regretted that choice due to the limited storage (32 GB really only makes about 18 GB usable for apps and the like) and the poor menu scrolling performance makes me tear my eyes out.

Been waiting for another tablet deal as this one is horrid.

Long-lasting battery and universal charging - Go for hours on a single charge* and back to 100% with the fast-charging USB-C port.

is this wrong?

I got the 32gb version of this free with a TV deal last year. It is a horrible experience. Very sluggish and slow to do anything. All I use it for is watching videos, and even that gets frustrating with how unresponsive it is, I could not imagine using it for anything else.

I highly suggest not using the feature unless you get a high quality U3 A2 Micro SD card, otherwise everything may be even slower. You also run the risk with a lower quality MicroSD card of it dying and all your apps being gone.

32GB should be plenty for most normal people for apps and then pictures, videos and music can go on the MicroSD card.

I picked this up from Samsung the other day. It's a little show to navigate around at times, but has been perfect for Youtube at 1080p, reddit and reading books. Speakers work well and the screen looks really good.

Edit: The Samsung website says Android 11, but mine came with Android 12 installed.

Edit2: Just got the update for Android 13.....

Samsung website also has a trade-in promotion for S8 lite 64gb for $120 with trading in my iPad Air 2 for $150 and $80 discount. $100 discount for 128GB

iPad air and air 2 can be trade in for $150 and iPad (1st gen) for $120

In for one, with primary use watching Netflix/Prime movies, a tablet for new IC4 spin bike, and reading. I know the iPad is only $100 more, but prefer Android & USB-C over iOS & lightning charger.

My mom wanted a tablet, I got her one of these. Comparing it side by side, my Tab S4 blows it away spec wise. I think most people would be better off buying a older used tablet on eBay for same or less. OLED screen on the old one is so much better. There are updates on the new one, but if it's just used for YouTube/surfing, I don't think it really matters much.
